❗️THE PLAN WAS ALWAYS SUBSTITUTION❗️ “There is then an ambition to increase PA numbers in the UK to make sure that maximum value is derived from them as medical substitutes …which is largely behind the call for them to be subject to statutory regulation” THIS is why the GMC have been ploughing ahead with their plan to register PAs! Why is the “independent” doctor’s regulator involved in substitution of its own members?! The GMC have gone rogue. It is time for a new regulator of doctors.

The government has announced a rapid independent review of physician associates and anaesthesia associates, to consider how the roles are deployed in the NHS. The review will examine the scope and safety of the roles bmj.com/content/387/bm…
