SB 293 is heading to the Governor for his signature! This common sense legislation will require all ballots are in by the time polls close on Election Day, but it now includes provisions from my Senate Bill 153 that will ensure only citizens are on our voter rolls! Voting is one of the institutions at the core of our Republic and in no world should a noncitizen be on our voter rolls!

SB 293 will make Ohio the 35th state to require all ballots be received on or before Election Day! While ballots will be required to be in by the time polls close, military and overseas voters will still have the deadline of 4 days after Election Day to get their ballots in.

The Ohio General Assembly has the sole authority under the U.S. Constitution to determine the time, place, and manner of state elections, and SB 293 is reasonable and measured legislation to make our elections more secure and accurately maintain our state voter rolls. I applaud the Governor for honoring the will of the legislature by signing this common-sense bill.
