Well I’ve been in business for a year as of yesterday. First year in business we hit $329k in revenue. Definitely have some improvements to make but I’m pretty happy with that.

Got a stump like this? Always grind roots first so you don’t lose them under the chips. If you have a ton of roots, get out the utility flags and mark them before grinding!

We had 2 calls through our GMB/LSA all of February. We had 12 this last week. That’s not counting around $6,000-$7,000 of contractor work referred to us. $4,500 in revenue from 3 working days and I’m heading out to hit some Saturday stumps. ITS HEATING UP.

Reasons I started stump grinding: ✅ Couldn’t afford to buy a business ✅ Wanted out of my W-2 ✅ Wanted to see if I actually liked entrepreneurship (not just the idea of it) And now we did $270k in the first calendar year It’s okay to just try something and see where it goes!

Finished up 4 more stumps at the golf course today. While working, one of the assistant grounds keeper said that her brother runs one of the courses about 10 minutes south of here. She said he had a lot of stumps on that course so he would be reaching out. I asked her for his number, called him right there and scheduled a course walkthrough/quote for tomorrow afternoon. Did that all right in front of her. Not sure how many stumps, but at least 10 or more. I’ll update the number tomorrow. This is how you win!!!!

In January, I had only been stump grinding for 6 months. I had no idea what was possible with a full spring/summer. So I threw what I thought was a stretch goal out there: $200k. Proud to say that we hit that goal on the first day of Q4! Cool moment, but WE ARE NOT STOPPING!

Yesterday I did a job for a client that was interested in me possibly clearing off all of his land and cleaning up about 7 acres of land for him. We dropped 3 trees and took down some massive limbs on an old oak in his front yard along with grinding about 5 stumps. Before I left he signed off on a $120,000 bid to completely remove every tree and stump on that 7 acres and clean up the land after. I will be leaving corporate America forever to build something of my own surrounded by the people I choose in approximately 3 weeks. Back in April when I bought my stump grinder I never would have guessed it grew this big this quickly but I have really fallen in love with entrepreneurship and I hope to continue to grow this company.

Alright, thats a wrap. Year 1 is in the books. Here’s how it went: -Total Revenue: $225,206 -Total costs: $72,000 $225,206- $72,197= $153,009 net FROM GRINDING STUMPS. Super grateful for all of you that have supported my journey so far. We’re just getting started!

@iancassel My buddies and I tried coming up with a reason why everyone looked older back then. I came up with water. No one drank as much water as we do now. Just coffee and booze. Now we have bottled water everywhere, tumblers etc… But who knows 😂

21 stumps smashed. Ended up being a $4200 day. The other 4 we had planned weren’t ready yet so we bumped those to next week. Terrain got nasty in a few spots but the machine pulled it off. What a day!

@StumpGuyTy Ahhh, the smell of hydraulic fluid. 3rd job I did, was about done with the last big stump, hydraulic fluid start spraying everywhere. Dealer fixed it no problem, but now it’s in my head. I wake up smelling it 😬😂

Just one more job left and we started leaking hydraulic fluid. Two things I’m proud of: 1.) I can now smell instantly if there is Hydraulic leaking. 2.) I know how to trouble shoot and swap an o-ring. Not advanced at this stuff at all but getting better
