I just left a customer mid quote. Simple tree trimming job but the guy was super difficult from the moment I walked up. Complained the entire time I was there and was very condescending. I simply told him I wasn’t a good fit for his needs and walked back to my truck. I’m busy enough not to have to deal with difficult people and I’m very thankful for that.

Things have been slow. I’ve been doing everything possible to get some work we can do in this rain without destroying peoples yards. I overpriced a bid because we would have to hand carry and winch everything up out of an embankment lined with rocks. She approved. This one is going to be terrible but I’m thankful we got it.

Whenever a guy uses their wedding photo as their main pic on LinkedIn or social media you know he dresses like a homeless person 99% of the time.

I had nothing on the schedule for this week. We just haven’t been closing leads. I threw a Hail Mary touch down. Crews have work all week!

@Woodscrapers @RealPlantBrah I’ve had the best month of business every month so far this year. May ain’t it for me lol. I just sat down and scheduled some jobs in the queue. My close rate is at 54%. So honestly I’m not doing terrible. I’m just constantly trying to get better so it’s never enough.

@RealPlantBrah Fuel prices are at the front of a lot of people’s minds. Not to mention I know a lot of people who have lost production jobs this year because of tariffs.

Just had someone with an Indian accent call me. He was obviously a scammer. Same ones that call all business owners trying to get our Google and yelp accounts. I told him I wasn’t interested and it’s Memorial Day we are closed. This pile of shit said I just need to get over it. They are gone and I need to move on. I honestly wish there was something that could be done about these scammer groups. They are absolutely terrible.

@RealPlantBrah Yea. My close rate has dipped to 45% in the past 30 days. I’ve dropped my prices in the past week to start getting the ball rolling again. I’ll come back up when the schedule starts filling back out.

@BlueCollarInvr It’s been dry for over a week. I think it’s picking back up though. History tells me in landscape that the month before graduation is dead except for mulch jobs. Should have expected similar from the tree side

I paid a plumbing company $4,400 to replace a sewer line under my garage, and now my garage floor looks like it lost a fight with a sidewalk 😭 They cut a huge section out of the concrete, repaired the pipe, and patched it back in with concrete that doesn’t even remotely match the original floor. So I asked the foreman when they planned to stain or finish it so it would blend in better… And this man literally laughed and said: “It’s a garage floor, buddy, not the Taj Mahal. Be glad it’s not dirt.” 💀 BE GLAD IT’S NOT DIRT?? I’m sorry, but if I’m paying thousands of dollars for a “professional” repair, I feel like the end result shouldn’t look like a random parking lot patch job. Now I’m sitting here wondering if this just tanked the appearance — and possibly the resale value — of my garage. Would you push back and demand they resurface the area properly, or am I overreacting?

@XCJOYX Most people don’t leave voicemails. They just call the next company. Half of the time if I call back they send me straight to voicemail.
