@MattyGorm @InGameMenu Done and added! Thank you for the feedback, seriously! You should see a genre dropdown now. We're working on getting more games onto the platform, but as we scale, this will definitely be something that is needed! @InGameMenu yes Chef! 🫡

This is great insight, thank you! I think my struggle right now is finding a fair rate because my YouTube channel doesn't generate a ton of revenue but I also understand hiring a great editor can increase that. I feel like it's probably an investment in the right editor rather than me trying to find an editor that fits the budget of my channel. Will definitely need to do some more research!

SUPER good question...but unfortunately there's no good definitive answer. Personally for me, I've always either worked on per-video rates and spun them into month-long rates. The per-video is a great way to feel things out. Once you get into a rhythm you could take things monthly and build a strategy/schedule/etc. Biggest thing is making sure you and the editor are aligned on what the workload/timing is. Paying $1,500 to an editor to edit 10 videos but you only give a 3 hour notice is a lot different than paying that same amount for the same workload but the editor has 2-ish days for a project (just for sake of example). I've seen it done so many ways, so it's all about what you're comfortable with and what you/the editor agree upon as fair.

Micah is cooking here and I 100% agree. I've run across creators who don't take care of their editors, and then wonder why their content isn't as polished as they'd like or they're finding a new editor every few months. It also means respecting your editors time and not expecting a video at the drop of a hat because you forgot to record or recorded last minute (with exceptions, of course). Creators shouldn't think of their editors as "employees", think of them as a partner....at least that how I view it. I'm investing my time into partnering with someone because I believe in their content and want to see them succeed (funny enough, it's how I also conduct myself as a talent agent). I don't like to just be transactional, I'm committed to the long-haul because I see the vision. It's also baffling how many SUPER talented editors I've run across in the space who aren't good with communication, can't stick to deadlines, or don't know how to conduct themselves professionally. So many of you could be EATING, but it takes you 3 business days to respond to a message or get an edit done. I could go on about this, but the message is simple: Commitment and loyalty go a long way for editors and creators.
MicahMillion@IAmMicahMillion

Some creators REALLY don't understand how valuable a good editor is. For every good, reliable editor, there are HUNDREDS of either unreliable but talented, or not very good but somewhat reliable editors. If you find a good one, treat them well and let them cook. On the flip side, fellow editors: stand up for yourselves. If you're being underpaid, SAY NO. Creators can either pay you for your time, or you can find other clients. There's endless opportunity in the content scene, don't let yourself get taken advantage of.

@MattyGorm @SoonerCreative_ Tho the payment structure usually depends upon the editor and their skill, but the best kind of payment structure imo is that you pay per video, with an advance payment of 20-50%, this helps in maintaining the trust and at the same time motivates your editor to give their best!

Unfortunately I had to sell my electric ride-on mower. Second one I've had to get rid of. The battery level never accurately reflected how much was left, so my mower would die with "80%" battery. From my research, it was due to the fact those mowers used lead acid batteries and not lithium ion (both Ryobi mowers). This has resulted in me researching robotic mowers. Do you have any brand recommendations for a ride-on mower or robotic mower?

@mweinbach Most electric-powered yard tools are just as good as the gas ones. The same is not true of pressure washers and leaf blowers, however lol

My town prohibits the use of gas leaf blowers seasonally and it’s so nice because of the sound these electric ones are simply not annoying at all it’s wonderful

@jogamedev But now as I'm reading the replies in this thread, maybe I should stop emailing developers directly? I'm definitely not trying to scam them and have a legit active channel but I don't want them thinking that I am trying to scam them 😂

@jogamedev I do. But it's not usually for directly asking for a key. If there's a game I'm interested in, I'll reach out to the developer, introduce myself, and see if they'd be willing to add me to their distribution list when the time comes for key distribution.

Do any content creators actually directly email gamedevs for keys anymore? It feels like every single email I get asking for keys is a scam.

@SnazzyLabs I just started testing YouTube Music and that platform definitely has a major UI issue, much more than Spotify imo.

For the life of me, I cannot understand why people like Spotify. The UI is so, so, so confusing. And ugly.

@MsYaniG @Gothalion @JezCorden Yeah I had a ton of fun playing the game, but it became exhausting trying to keep up with all their changes (both internally to creators and externally on the game itself). I mean, how many currencies can a game have? 😂

Oooof. I was part of their creator program when it first launched and it was a MESS. I've never encountered such a disorganized program. Not a reflection on the CMs there but Once Human really fumbled what they had going for it. They decided to dump all of their effort into loot crates and essentially ignored what made the game great.
