The report praises our family engagement team and prison-based social workers for their efforts to support women and their families. It also highlights the recently launched Let’s Talk volunteer visitor scheme for women who don’t receive visits (more on that soon).

Today, we celebrated 21 years of the Democratic Therapeutic Community at Hmp Send womens Prison in Surrey. I have been an officer in the community for 17 years now. Today, I was very proud of the women and staff who have been a part of this journey through the years.

@John_Podmore I thought HMP Dovegate was a Therapeutic Community ? Also, more Psychlogically Informed Planned Environments (PIPES) are needed on prison wings and probation approved premises.

I was lucky enough to visit Hope Steet once more today with other members of staff from Hmp Send, including our governor. The last time I visited, it was just an empty shell. The One Small Thing charity initiative is a wonder to behold, built with a trauma informed ideology.
