The amazing @susieb16 from @ECPObesity at the @MEPObesityGroup event shares her personal story to help colleagues better understand her personal experience of living with obesity. ‘Obesity is the gateway’ is a theme that resonates. We have to recognise that inaction on obesity perpetuates the #NCDs cycle.
🌍 This week, the 78th World Health Assembly (#WHA78) gathers global health leaders in Geneva — and advocates are making sure obesity is not left out of the conversation. ECPO’s Executive Director Vicki Mooney, alongside colleagues Susie Birney and Jason Halford, joined forces with the GOPA and WOF communities to call for stronger policy action. “Obesity is a gateway to many NCDs. The WHO’s Obesity Acceleration Plan is a step in the right direction — but we need a complete rewiring of global health frameworks,” said Vicki.
