@mayormcginn More people are driving because buses and walking have become scary and unsafe. Too many belligerent drug addicts on the buses, and lining the streets between bus stop and office. We need to enforce existing drug possession laws, and stop allowing free riders on Metro.

@NWSSeattle We used to call this a “silver thaw” in my youth, but my wife said she never heard of a silver thaw. I can report it’s a silver thaw in Magnolia.

@AmericanFietser Such a coincidence. I saw a pedestrian with a reflective vest on the sidewalk as well in my neighborhood in Seattle last night (for the first time). It was surprising to see but I understand why the person wore it, that street was not well lit and there is a big elevation change

@mayormcginn The freeway construction separated the famously sung about intersection of “12th Street and Vine” from the historically thriving black neighborhood near 18th and Vine. (Beatles, Muddy Waters, “I’m going to Kansas City . . . “) A museum there tells of what was lost.

@mpusto A yellow or orange vest with reflective striping is a good idea for riding anytime in traffic. Construction workers must wear them because they are so effective at reducing accidents.
