@sufferingspurs The problem is VAR is still giving decisions to humans to make. I would scrap it except for offside, ball out of play and goal line tech. These aren’t subjective decisions, and then let refs make call in real time.

It’s very rare in today’s game that the biggest story is not VAR related. Whether that be because of the ‘threshold’ not being met to overturn a decision that was definitely wrong or because they gave one decision but not the other. Too often we’re seeing identical goals given or disallowed based on whether the ref gave it or not on the pitch. We’ve lived it now. We know what it is. It was supposed to take away from the controversy of incorrect refereeing decisions, instead it has added to it. It’s sucked the life out of football, especially in the premier league. It’s slowed it down, it’s largely taken the joy out of scoring a goal. Not one actual football fan I know prefers football with VAR. So it’s simple. We are the paying customers. It’s our product. Get rid of it. Or if you’re not going to get rid of it then simplify it to FACTUAL decisions. Offsides and goal line technology. Everything else can be determined by the referee who is actually on the pitch. It’s the biggest disaster our sport has ever encountered
