Why is the Iran War peace summit not happening in Delhi? A summit that's a defining moment in 21st century's geopolitics. 1) India is friends with Iran, America, Israel, entire GCC and Russia, and now China too. 2) India has huge interests in the region. Of all kinds. 3) India has a strong history of international leadership, right from the 1950s. 4) India has aligned with the US and done everything Trump demanded in trade terms. 5) India's stature, size and strength warrant it. So, what went wrong? Why did India lose this opportunity? Why is it absent from the game? All comments welcome.

@SupriyaShrinate World doesnt circle around India. US, Russian and China are the biggest powers on the world stage and they will get what they want no matter what. Pakistan and Turkey are two ideal candidates in this situation because both have very good relations with US and Iran.

The entire world welcomes the two-week ceasefire. We need peace, not war. But it is deeply disturbing that Pakistan has played an active role in brokering the two-week ceasefire between Iran and the United States. A nation, that harbours terrorists and has been on the brink of economic collapse is now a key player in global geopolitics - while India has been conspicuously absent from the scene. To dismiss this as a non-event is foolhardy and an ostrich-like denial. This is NOT nothing. India, which has for centuries been the moral compass of the world, now finds herself isolated and sidelined. We have ceded the strategic space at the world stage which has been very quickly occupied by a rogue state - Pakistan. Meanwhile, India openly and foolishly - aligned with Israel and America. We even failed to muster the moral courage to denounce the American President’s call to nuke Iran and wipe out an entire civilisation. India has been found floundering, directionless and timid in our response. In a defining moment, India chose to stand on the wrong side of history. India, has paid a price for a compromised Prime Minister who chose to be a coward when the world needed us to be brave and just. India has been let down by a man who is being blackmailed by the US and Israel. History will not forgive Narendra Modi for allowing Pakistan to play this role on the global stage - at India’s expense.

I genuinely share the sentiment with many across India that the Pakistan-led peace initiative should not succeed. We can endure a lot, oil at $300, the Sensex dropping to 30k, inflation soaring to 19%, or the rupee weakening to 130. But what feels unacceptable is the humiliation of witnessing what could be the most historic peace accord ever being labeled the “#IslamabadAccord” especially at a time when #Dhurandhar2‌ is drawing packed audiences. 😐
