I took this photo today not far from Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin. In it, between a GDR stele and a Soviet red star, is Hero of Ukraine Oleksandr Matsievskyi, who was shot by Russian forces on a captured position after shouting “Glory to Ukraine!”, already unarmed. In an inconspicuous corner - the entire spirit of the times.

@anthony_gislain Je suis assez sceptique. Les ukrainiens sont bien plus unis entre eux, la plupart vivent dans des conditions bien plus précaires ce qui permet une plus grande résilience. Politiquement c'est plus polarisé aux extrêmes en France ce qui n'aide pas du tout.

C'est une question qui me revient souvent en tête: Est-ce que nous français auront la même résilience et solidarité que les ukrainiens si ont était à leurs place? Parce'que quand je vois nos divergences profondes je crains parfois le pire... dites-moi votre avis.

@JHaegelen62336 @thetoitoi Les autres ports sont des petites villes, peu de populations, peu de mouvements... 12 bateaux à transporter, plus matériel et hommes... La zone d'Odessa est plus adaptée pour ce genre de gros déplacements.

I have stayed quiet on this for a long time. I do not usually respond to negativity, because I believe the work speaks louder than anything I could say. But at this point, I cannot ignore it anymore. What hurts the most is not criticism. It is watching people who claim to support Ukraine turn on those who are here risking their lives for it. We are supposed to be one team, one fight. When we attack each other, we weaken everything we are trying to build. I will be fair. The individual I am referring to has done good things for Ukraine. That is true. But there is another side that cannot be ignored. There is a consistent pattern of targeting foreign volunteers, attempting to discredit them, undermine their work, and push them out if they are not aligned. That is not support. That is division. What makes this even harder to watch is that foreign fighters aligned with her, men I respect, are participating in these attacks without facts, without verification, and without taking the time to understand the truth. That is not who we are supposed to be. Let me be clear about why I am here. I am here for one reason. To help Ukrainian soldiers survive and make it home to their families. That is it. I have never made money here. I spend my own money every month to support units, civilians, and training. Usually my bank account is ZERO at the end of the month. This is not a business. This is personal. Ukraine is my home, and it will remain my home long after this war ends. Everything we do is documented. It is verifiable. It has been validated by the Ukrainian Army itself. And still, there are attempts to discredit it, even going as far as contacting Ukrainian authorities to claim it is false. That alone should speak volumes. But what crosses the line completely is this. People connected to this situation have contacted my ex-wife directly by telephone, repeatedly harassing her and trying to involve her in something she has nothing to do with. That is not just wrong, it is unacceptable. She has reached out to me about this herself and feels extremely uncomfortable, and it has gotten to the point where she has told me she may need to change her number just to stop the harassment. This has happened more than once, and it needs to stop immediately. Bringing family into this is not just unprofessional, it is disgraceful. We have been here for four years. We have trained thousands of soldiers. We have worked alongside Ukrainian units, training centers, and leadership. The Ukrainians know who we are. They know what we do. There is no question about that. So if there are accusations, then bring proof. Bring facts. Show evidence. Otherwise, stop the attacks. This is bigger than any one person. This is about Ukraine. This is about the men and women on the front lines who depend on us to stay focused, professional, and united. I am not asking for support for myself. I am asking for unity for Ukraine. Because at the end of the day, this is not about ego, popularity, or personal disputes. It is about bringing people home alive. And this internal drama needs to stop. Слава Україні. Героям слава. 🇺🇦

In October 2024 Rogue Team lost 4 of their members. For me personally this was the most difficult loss of the war. I have gotten used to losing people but really there are some things you don't get used to Brad Jennison or "Super Dave" was the Rogue Team leader. He was my closest confidante in Ukraine. Before he deployed for the mission from which he did not return, I changed my whole travel itinerary to catch him before he left. I am so glad Idid. The last thing he said to explained how he felt about leading Rogue Team. He did not feel he fit in as an Army Ranger and it wasn't for him. He did not feel he fit in in corporate America and it wasn't for him. He did feel he fit as the leader of Rogue Team. He had no children. He thought of the men on his team as his children and if it came to it, he would do whatever he needed for them. Unfortunately that is what it came to.

Par peur de "servir le narratif russe", on a trop longtemps eu du mal à voir que des organisations ultra-nationalistes ukrainiennes armées aguerries représentent un pôle d'attraction pour les divers néo-nazis européens. Ukraine’s SBU finally put real numbers on something many of us have been watching happen piece by piece. Over the past year, Ukraine’s Security Service says it destroyed or disabled roughly $4 billion worth of Russian air defense systems. S-300s. S-350s. S-400s. Buk-M1s. Buk-M2s. Pantsirs. These are not backup systems. These are the core of Russia’s layered air defense network. From where I am, this is not abstract. This is how Ukraine stays alive while being outmanned and outgunned. You do not beat Russia by lining up tank on tank. You beat them by stripping away their protection. You punch holes in air defense, force them to spread assets thin, and open corridors for long range drones to fly deep. Bases. Warehouses. Airfields. Production sites. That is what this campaign is actually about. The SBU said it clearly. These strikes had a systemic effect. Once corridors opened, Ukrainian drones could move freely into Russian territory and hit military infrastructure that actually matters. That changes the math of this war. Look at Taganrog last week. SBU and the Ukrainian Navy hit the Atlant Aero factory. That facility produced Molniya drones used daily against Ukrainian troops. Production halls destroyed. Capacity reduced. Fewer drones launched. That means fewer soldiers killed tomorrow. This is not symbolic. This is cause and effect. Can every strike be independently verified in real time. No. Anyone who has been in a war knows that. But patterns do not lie. Russia is constantly repositioning air defense. Assets keep getting hit far from the front. Ukraine keeps adapting faster than Russia can plug the gaps. This is what modern asymmetric warfare looks like when it is done right. Patient. Methodical. Relentless. Do not underestimate what Ukraine is doing quietly in the background.
