If he is injured Isak has been an absolute disaster of a signing so far, we knew he had injury issues but this has been shocking 😮

@Lfc200123408 @arendmachine @LFCOriginals Again. Diaz is not going at full speed, he is half Van de Ven's size and weight. The angle is completely different. He has nowhere near as much of a run up. There's about a million different variables you're just completely ignoring. As you say "it's basic common sense".

@Lfc200123408 @arendmachine @LFCOriginals Anderson's boot connects with Watkins' ankle. Van De Ven's weight lands on top of Isak's leg. They're completely different tackles. Van De Ven is also bigger and heavier than Anderson. You're simply incorrect.

@MaxGay93 @arendmachine @LFCOriginals Elliott Anderson’s tackle on Watkins doesn’t break Watkins’s ankle. If that was Isak it would have broke his ankle. Because he’s more fragile. Yes it’s a hard challenge but it doesn’t have a 100% leg break success rate

@Lfc200123408 @arendmachine @LFCOriginals Van De Ven scissor tackles his standing leg, that does not happen every week. I'm not saying he doesn't have fitness issues, but physics dictate that a tackle like that, into a standing leg with all the player's weight on it, is a leg breaker.

@MaxGay93 @arendmachine @LFCOriginals U see plenty of ppl getting ankles smashed every week and don’t go off injured. Isak just has a more fragile body. And that’s ok!

@arendmachine @LFCOriginals Yes it does. His body is more fragile therefore takes less loading to get injured compared to tougher bodies

@LaLigaMichael @NealGardner_ PSG and Liverpool both had/have the midfielders to work to cover their fullbacks. Mendes and Hakimi as well are so athletic they can make great recovery runs too. LFC had Henderson (underrated in his prime) covering the space behind Trent. That lineup doesn't work though.

@NealGardner_ Alba & Alves prove that it also works outside FIFA. I’d say PSG and Klopp’s Liverpool do too. Obviously Xabi’s Bayer, but that’s notably different. There’s much more to consider than just personnel there, tho (ie shape, buildup, DM, press, involvement from attackers).

@LFCTransferRoom @LewisSteele_ Liverpool have gone back to shopping in the bargain basement bin. Get FSG/Slot/Edwards/Hughes out before they totally destroy what’s left of the club. It’s an utter disgrace what’s going on.

@palindo7 @Carl_M79 Spain and Portugal I agree, though even then, I think Bellingham is in with a shout for both. France though, Rice walks in over Kone, Camavinga, or Tchouameni. Bellingham against current Griezmann in the attacking mid spot is also contentious.

@palindo7 @Carl_M79 This is just wildly untrue. Harry Kane walks into any of those teams, easily. Rice, Bellingham, or Anderson would all easily start for France. Reece James starts at right back for all of them. That's just off the top of my head.

@ATLiverpool_ Adam Wharton is exactly the sort of profile we need. We have zero effective progressive passers in our midfield. Wharton goes a long way to fixing our build up, which in turn puts much less pressure on our defence. Yes you need a tackler next to him, but he'd be a top signing.

@talkSPORT It's all good... they're bringing back Tsmikas (not kidding)🤣 Meanwhile they sold Diaz (worldy), Quansah, Kelleher, threw Elliot under the bus and spent a fortune on busts like Wirtz, Kerkez, Pingpong and 120m sicknote Isak. Quad next year mind! Laughable deluded scousers🤣

@nufcpb The reality is this: The best teams in Europe are better than the best teams in England because they can match our budgets. The mid table teams aren't as good, because our mid table teams can out spend them at least 3 to 1. It's not that complicated.

Villa, Forest and Palace all winning. This is why the Premier League is the best league in the world, mid table vs mid table and the Premier League will batter any other league, Manchester City losing to Real Madrid and Liverpool to PSG doesn’t change that 👍🏻

@A_GymGuy Not replacing him was stupid. But people saying that selling a 28 year old in the last two years of his contract, who was in very patchy form, for 75 million euros was stupid are just engaging in bitter revisionism.

I didn’t want to sell Diaz but revisionism is hilarious. He scores goals but he missed chances and also had his head down a lot on counter attacks a lot. It’s mad how great a player becomes once he leaves. Most wanted rid of him on here

@owenthfc__ @Otavioprop @juveb123 Mate I am deadly serious here. If you did an all time Juventus v Spurs combined XI, there's genuinely an argument not one Spurs player, not even Kane gets in. You're not in the same league as Juventus.

@NealGardner_ I think it's the same as football always is, it evolves. From 2018-2020 for example, it's pretty hard to argue that Liverpool and Manchester City weren't just top 3 or 4 teams in Europe, but also played some of the most entertaining football. We'll see it move that way again.

My take on the Premier League is pretty clear. I think it has the highest floor of any league in the world, but not the highest ceiling. Moreover, the new physical OOP-oriented ‘meta’ seems to be forcing sides down a path that just isn’t likely to be very successful in Europe. What they’ve got is a bunch of teams who are undoubtedly difficult to beat, but that simultaneously lack the capacity to be the protagonists - which historically doesn’t bode well in Europe. Quite done with all the banter because, frankly, it’s getting really silly and I don’t want to indulge. I’m mostly just curious to see how, or if, the PL evolves/compromises to become even more equipped. Or contrarily, whether the ‘culture’ prevents it.

@ZacDjellab @NealGardner_ I think it's close, shows how incredible Barca's all time XI is, but I think the defensive strength of an EPL all time back 4 and keeper against that Barca side would probably see them edge it.
