The biggest technical challenge of our visualisation for @ETH_en Scientifica was the sheer number of trees (~50 million) that the @ForEco_ETH humans cram into a simulation, meaning ~a million trees need to be on display for a convincing landscape. (damn you @MaxIbexCosta)

Well... I guess I am a doctor now! I finally defended my PhD yesterday. The conclusion of a nice 'little trip', including pandemics, falling trees, friends met along the way, a bit of hard work and a good dose of fun. Thanks to everyone I have crossed paths with over these years

Now at the end of a beautiful week in Wien. Once again this year I presented some results of my Ph.D. on the interaction between wind and trees to the #EGU23, with a focus on mapping vulnerability to wind damage in the Alps.
