The UK housing crisis is not going well. In order to alleviate its acute housing affordability crisis, London has been set a target of building 88,000 new homes per year over the next decade. Last year construction started on just 5,891 – 94% below target, a 75% year-on-year decline, the steepest drop in the country, the lowest tally since records began almost 40 years ago and the lowest figure for any major city in the developed world this century.

For the purposes of full transparency, here are our canvassing returns from Makerfield that we’ve had back so far from the door knocking today. 1,010 sample size. 24.6% for Restore Britain. 31.2% definitely against. 24.2% undecided. 20% considering. Excluding won’t votes. More teams coming back, so the sample size will grow a lot in the next few hours. Largely agrees with what we’ve found over the last week - astounding response with the working class, more difficult with wealthier areas. To be honest. Labour are the opponent in the fancier places, Reform with the working class. Our campaign has just taken off. Great name recognition already, but clearly room to grow. Let’s see what happens. But we’re very happy with progress.

Jordan Peterson dropped an uncomfortable truth on Triggernometry. The U.S. military that is desperate for recruits won’t accept anyone with an IQ under 82. That’s roughly 10% of the population. They’ve tested this for decades and found these individuals become a net drain, no matter how hard they work. In complex environments, the disadvantage is real. This lines up with ASVAB data. The military generally requires the 31st percentile (~IQ 92) but can dip to the 10th percentile (~IQ 81-83) in limited cases, confirming Peterson’s core point. Conservatives struggle with it. Liberals often claim anyone can be trained to do anything. Both approaches fall short. This one made me pause. We talk a lot about equality, but raw cognitive differences create real limits that are hard to solve. Ignoring or sugarcoating these realities doesn’t help the people at the lower end, it leaves them without practical paths forward. Do you think society can have an honest conversation about IQ differences, or is it too dangerous?

It has been reported that Thames Valley Police want to charge the Oxford Union up to £80,000 for Tommy Robinson’s security at his forthcoming debate. This looks like a blatant abuse of power designed to price the Union out, prevent Tommy Robinson from speaking, and stifle free speech.

Last week, the Government barred eleven individuals from entering the UK ahead of the Unite the Kingdom rally. All had spoken out against mass uncontrolled migration. Some had even attended similar events in Britain previously without issue. The Prime Minister branded them “far-right agitators” whose presence was supposedly “not conducive to the public good”. Rather than silencing critical voices — foreign or domestic — Keir Starmer should defend his government’s policies in open debate. American conservatives should be no more banned from entering Britain than British socialists should be barred from entering the United States. After all, the Prime Minister seemed far less concerned when Labour staffers travelled to the US to campaign for Kamala Harris. Given his government’s growing clampdown on free speech, perhaps it is Keir Starmer himself who is “not conducive to the public good”.
