@Riotpompman I will also say I used to work in product marketing, where it was the norm for people to pay for good Amazon reviews from random people/bot farms Would not be shocked if they were doing that on rotten tomatoes too

@dean18892 @ShehabEnan_98 @el3ab_yala_ Sky Sports is £20/month, which goes back (in part) into investment into the sport. That’s a good chunk of a monthly wage in a lot of African countries, so where do they get the money from to compete with European teams to develop players?

@ShehabEnan_98 @dean18892 @el3ab_yala_ Up until the 80s the system was shaped by both South American and European politics. Most of Africa lacks and lacked the funds, the motivation, or infrastructure to support their domestic game. National teams with weak domestic leagues typically perform worse.

@dean18892 @el3ab_yala_ That argument ignores context. For decades, Africa had fewer World Cup spots, less investment, and limited exposure not because of “lack of talent,” but because of politics and a system shaped by European dominance. When access is unequal, outcomes will be too.

@hipp0squared @wearetherace he had caught up to the pack after the SC, due to dirty air and a slowing Russell and Hamilton, that's the potential, fighting more than one car in a race, not getting stuck behind a slowing Ferrari. If Leclerc could have overtaken Russell, Norris could have.

@MaximusCockburn @wearetherace A) What potential? the McLaren and Ferrari were almost identical? Piastri and Leclerc held position (and gap) for the entire race B) Norris is only behind Hamilton because of an SC C) Piastri was not managing tyres optimally. You can see the decline in telemetry & Norris radio

@hipp0squared @wearetherace Hulkenberg might have had a bad launch because of setup failures, but these are such minutiae that some team fault has to become driver fault. Norris didn't capitalise on anything in the race or quali besides not fucking up the launch, he can't have been more than average.

@hipp0squared @wearetherace External factors affect everything and it would be impossible to meaningfully assess driver capability beyond the expectations for the weekend. All it takes is your team to fuck your setup up and you have shit quali/race pace, then you have a bad race, can't factor in everything.

@hipp0squared @wearetherace Piastri was over 2s ahead from 40-50, that's not fighting anyone. Hamilton on the Hards completely shat the bed in lap times after lap 40, Hamilton fell into Norris, Norris didn't catch up to Hamilton. Norris failing to overtake a slow Hamilton ruined the potential in his race.

@hipp0squared @wearetherace Then getting embroiled in a battle with a lackluster Hamilton for 20 laps ended any potential in his race. Him missing important practice data and laps does not mean he has a better weekend, he wouldn't have a good weekend if he was working through a cold at the same time.

@hipp0squared @wearetherace "No practice" he was missing about 20 laps of practice, he qualified far slower than his teammate. After SC was stuck in No Man's Land seconds off before HAM's pace dropped off, all while his teammate was far ahead of any competition past lap 40, on nearly the same pit window.

@hipp0squared @wearetherace Hamilton, Verstappen and Norris had poor weekends, no reason for any of them to be near Ocon who recovered from pitting before the SC and held off both Audi drivers.

@Reaxgrim @vintagemapstore devolved governments do not count as an independent sovereign governments, otherwise Spain would be devolved, so would Yugoslavia, so would Denmark. You are headed by the UK government, as much as that makes you piss and shit your pants that that's the case.

@JordanWil51 @SkinwithLolami You can 100% hike long distances at a pace of 3mph if you’re fit, 3.5-4mph if you’re incredibly fit. On mostly flat terrain of course. The Across Wales Walk is basically this, which is the one I did years ago, most people manage it in 18hrs.

@MaximusCockburn @SkinwithLolami Well I suppose my calculations were formed through grok, which told me it would take roughly 25 hours at an average pace to reach 50 miles walking with 0 break for food/rest. So that’s why I found it infeasible.

@JordanWil51 @SkinwithLolami Idk what makes you think there’s zero chance he walked 50 miles in a day, I’ve walked that in a day it’s called hiking around 16-18hrs of continuous walking. I’d like to see how fucked his feet are if he’s doing 25 miles regularly, especially if on pavement. Feet don’t lie.

@SkinwithLolami 104k steps is like 50 miles, so these numbers are inflated and fake. He didn’t walk 50 miles in a day. If he were running it would take double the distance to reach 104k and he didn’t run 100 miles in a day either. There’s numbers are fake as shit.

@MaximusCockburn @Unjaanwho @YOULIKEMYPACE Just like every driver? The Merc in general has really bad starts. If you put Leclerc in that Merc and make it non dominant, he is also losing positions at the start and not gaining much afterwards. We are literally seeing Vertappen unable to do shit when he doesn't have the car

@MaximusCockburn @Unjaanwho @YOULIKEMYPACE He didwhat he had to do to win and did it in a clean manner, not to mention thatbefore the safety car he was much faster than Russell and had a very good shot at fighting for the win. Being in the best car doesn't mean that you have to lap everyone 10 times to have a great race.

@MaximusCockburn @Oscar_ST92 @YOULIKEMYPACE He won the race, luck or no luck he would have won it without it, the only thing he could have done better is grand slam, but when Ferrari and Mclaren has superior starts it's impossible.
