It’s sad to see that Xabi is afraid to bench Vini even when he’s playing really poorly. Two reasons probably: 1. Vini will complain, and make a big drama out of it causing to disrupt the dressing room and the energy within the squad. (Like he did when we were WINNING in the Clasico, things went downhill since then) 2. The club has told Xabi Alonso to avoid benching him in order to protect Vini during contract extension talks. The fact is, Vini has been an average player for over 2 years now. What he did 2 years ago doesn't matter NOW at this moment. He definitely does not deserve to be an undisputed starter for a club like Real Madrid. I love him for what he has given to the club, but right now I can't pretend like he's not a liability to the team.
