@KUhokie42 Not to do authors a disservice: they do actually do experiments to determine stereospecificity, but with acyclic starting materials. Starting material er was 89:11 and the product 88:12.

@KUhokie42 "the products were generally obtained in diastereomerically pure form". There's one exception, but it's not the compound pictured.
