Samuel Onuha is one of the biggest names in ecom. Genuinely a role model for a lot of us. This guy is more disciplined than 90% of entrepreneurs out there. So watching where he's at now, losing himself to drugs and partying, is honestly unthinkable. And really sad to see. But there's a lesson here nobody can ignore. It doesn't matter how much money you make. The moment you let the distractions take over, the drugs, the women, the parties, that's the thing that takes you down. You can have everything and hit millions, and still lose it all in a split second. Hope he gets better. And honestly, hope even more that this whole thing is just AI.

@safoo Bid caps, if an adset was overspending unprofitably I would put our average 30day CPA as a bidcap on that specific adset. For us its working perfect. Its spending less, sometimes even nothing, but when its spends it is always profitable

There's a lot of noise right now about Meta spending on the wrong ads. I'm hearing it from everyone dealing with it. Here's the fix. I let Meta run my ad spend untouched for over a year. Right now it's the worst media buyer in my account. Since Q4 last year I barely touched anything. Let the algo decide where the money goes, full hands off. And for the last month or two, it's been getting it wrong almost every time. The usual response when I say this: "that's not Meta, your ads are just weak," or "the ad is TOF, it's just warming the audience, that's part of it." No. We actually tested it. We turned off the exact ads Meta was pushing spend into, and overall campaign performance went up. Not down. Up. So now we step back in, carefully. Two levers: → Bid caps on the bad adsets, so it only spends when it can actually hit our number. This is the main one. → Turning off the ads Meta over-spends on. We do this the least. Hands off worked for a year. Right now it doesn't. Watch what the algo spends on, not what it tells you.

what's the dumbest thing you've seen a "guru" teach about Meta this year? I'll go first: "never touch a winning campaign" bro your frequency is 9.4 and you have no exclusions setup, touch the campaign🫵

Meta when you ask why it's spending 90% of your budget on an ad with 0.2 ROAS and no history of conversions

@jforjacob And the second you say this everyone goes "it's TOF, it's just warming the audience." Nah. We killed those ads and the whole campaign got better. What's working for us now: bid caps ONLY on the over-spending bad adset, so it only spends when it can actually hit TCPA

Meta is in a place where I trust it less than ever to spend on the right ads Like, I think it gets it wrong pretty much all of the time now. Near 100% failure rate The more I manually intervene and push spend myself, turn off ads meta favours etc the better things go Even today, surf scaling 2 ads Meta didn’t want to spend on, they are now top spenders in the account at like 50x the budget of other ads at a CPA 4x lower than average

@_kaushalshah You are 100% right. Meta was doing great with deciding where to spend on until start of Q2, since then we had to step in and finally fix it ourselves

For years, we have been told to trust Meta and let meta decide where to spend money on because “he is smarter than us” But the truth is Meta tends to push budget on a ad which has strong engagement (that’s his primary goal) It rarely pushes on ad which will get you real sales. (that’s our goal) That’s why you’ll sometimes see Meta spend most of your budget on a single ad that delivers only average ROAS, while another ad with better profitability barely gets any spend.

I love the idea of Notion - having everything from CRM, task mangement, client portals, etc., everything ops related - in one place But I just hate opening it and I hate using it. The UI being so rigid and not having changed in a decade eats at me. What is everyone else using?

@elaineshan8 This is so easy to bypass. Zero EU dropshippers will feel this 3€ tax

The EU €3 small parcel tax may be delayed. But what sellers should really watch out for is the delivery delay risk in the next 2 months. Right now, major postal operators in Europe are protesting and asking for a full delay of the new tax rules. One of our logistics partners told us the most likely outcome is that the €3 tax will still start on July 1, but the more complex reporting rules and penalty system may be pushed back. One thing is clear: the €3 tax is coming. It’s just a question of timing. But more importantly, sellers should be aware that there may be delays in European customs clearance during July and August. As a supplier, my suggestions are: 1. Talk with your logistics provider early and prepare for possible delays in transit time. This can affect all channels, including air freight and last-mile delivery. 2. Avoid switching to some cheap but unstable logistics providers during this period. Right now, keeping stable fulfillment is more important than saving small shipping costs.
