Is there any business that can thrive legally in this country? Because honestly, the whole system feels broken from top to bottom. We’re dealing with; 1️⃣Heavy taxes which are suffocating our businesses. 2️⃣Unfair tax exemptions: Gov’t pays taxes for some foreign companies, but local businesses pay full amount. 3️⃣Unlevel playing field: Chinese firms import finished goods tax-free while Ugandans pay millions. 4️⃣Goods are now taxed by weight, not value especially garments. 5️⃣No standard valuation, taxes change every time you import. 6️⃣Storage charges pile up in customs while URA delays clearance. 7️⃣Road enforcement often ignores legit revenue documents & still fines traders. 8️⃣Double & triple taxation: Even retail shop owners pay income tax on top of other levies. 9️⃣Fake trader representatives: URA reportedly uses imposters to speak on behalf of traders 🔟URA is implementing new policies despite prior agreements to wait for the President's guidance and Gov’t agreements are ignored, pushing traders to the edge. All this while those at the top live large & untouched because we’re led by selfish people. What must we do to get the fair service we deserve? You can’t keep stealing from the local person. How do you tell climate stories through arts and games to young generation ? We were honored to organize and facilitate the wildlife conservation and climate change to the students from Gymnasium Allee (Hamburg) and Kibasila High School (Dar es Salaam)
