@mutyaba01 I agree underfunding is the challenge but how have the UMA addressed the misconduct of it's members??
Stealing even the little medicines provided, absent on duty, charging patients money in government facilities, referring them to their own pharmacies and clinics etc??

On Tuesday next week, I will be in Mbarara City to assess the impact of Government programs and, where necessary, expose corruption to ensure public resources serve the people.
Mbarara holds a special place in my heart because it is where I was born on the morning of 28th July 1979 at Mbarara Hospital. My mother, Brown Abwooli Nante Byenkya, was heavily pregnant when she and my late father, Akiiki Davidson Balaam Byenkya, a Civil Engineering graduate of the University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, were driven from Karamoja to Mbarara on the poor roads of that time after the then regime arrested my father.
My father had been working in Karamoja on British Aid-funded water dam and road projects when he was accused of supporting the then little-known Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, who was in the process of organizing and registering the Uganda Patriotic Movement (UPM), a political party that was officially launched in June 1980 ahead of the presidential elections. They were taken to Makenke Barracks, and it was during those difficult circumstances that I was born “ Barugahare” due to the hardships and long journey my parents endured.
Those experiences gave me a lifelong attachment to both Mbarara and Karamoja and continue to inspire my commitment to justice, accountability, and selfless service to our people.
I invite all residents of Mbarara City to join me for a public Baraza on Tuesday at Mayor’s Park, starting at 4:00 p.m. until late. Come and share your views on service delivery, report corruption, and engage with us as we work together to improve governance and strengthen accountability.

Today, I inspected the ongoing construction works on the Masaka–Kyotera–Mutukula Road, a strategic regional corridor that connects Uganda to the United Republic of Tanzania and serves as a vital route for trade, tourism and cross-border movement.
I am concerned that with only two years remaining on the contract, just about 30% of the works have been completed. This pace is not satisfactory for a project of such national and regional importance.
I directed the contractor to intensify dust suppression by regularly watering the entire corridor, to prevent accidents which have become a common occurrence due to the dust and lack of speed humps.
The contractor has 90 days to commence tarmarcing of the road!
@MoWT_Uganda will maintain close supervision of this project to ensure improved performance, adherence to quality standards and timely delivery.

NUP’s Paul Mwiru, the Jinja South Division East MP, might find himself in a spot of parliamentary bother.
He is the Chief Opposition Whip.
His people run the lead accountability arm of government. But he’s on the hook as one of the individuals accused of grabbing Railways land.
A lot of people are said to have fraudulently worked with Jinja Land Board to grab land belonging to @RailwaysUganda. The entity is moving to reclaim this land but is said to be facing some political resistance while simultaneously being grilled by the same politicians and well connected individuals who grabbed this land…over the same land they grabbed.
The next few weeks in COSASE will be interesting. Will the committee back URC to reclaim this lost land?

Minister of State for Health, @Hon_Anifa , has sent home all medics she found without their official uniforms during her visit to Rakai Health Centre. She warned that anyone found violating the dress code again will face interdiction.
