Cowboys rookie LB Jaishawn Barham challenged @JoeJHoyt to an Oklahoma drill today: Joe: Did you ever run an Oklahoma drill? Barham: I mean, we can find out. We can do it. Joe: It would work out in your favor, not mine. Barham: Yeah, of course. *later in the interview* Barham: It can still happen. 😂😂😂

Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer said they have not had any conversations with George Pickens about potentially trading him. Their plan is for him to remain a Dallas Cowboy

the reasons Lawrence looks slower here are because he has a nasty false step coming out of his stance while Kelly doesn't, and Kelly times the snap better. if you want to go deeper, Kelly is jetting off the snap for his first 2 steps (full acceleration) while Lawrence is reading the set/backfield (Kelly's shoulders are more forward with more weight over his toes while Lawrence is more upright and reading what's going on in the backfield). Also, their stride lengths are a big indicator. Lawrence probably has a formation indicator telling him to expect something coming to his side, whether it be zone read, screen or something of the like. This snap does not show that Kelly is a better athlete at all, imo.

(don't want to toot my horn but toot toot. didn't see anyone else talking Malachi Lawrence's false step. remember that when i start my own substack one day)

In his interview with media, Malachi Lawrence said that in his first week, coach BT is working on his “false step” habit he has. Says with a bean bag on his foot! Good to see them attack what @JohnOwning dubbed as a glaring thing that needed to be fixed! #Cowboys
