@tobyasky A player playing bad doesn’t mean you can pass such a judgement. It was evident the issue was the manager not the player.

As at when Jamie made that comment, he wasn’t wrong. Casemiro was playing really bad and people made excuse for him because of the beautiful career he had before United. Let’s not all pretend like it was all rosy for him. Many United fans wanted him out. We must rather give credit to Casemiro for redeeming himself, bouncing back, and then leaving on a high, the best thing to do.

@iamdikeh GK fault . As a defender, you don’t leave such ball unless your goal keeper shouts for you to leave. An opponent couldn’t sneak in while trying to leave the ball.

@EOEboh You’re making it easy for an attacker to be sure an email exists but password is incorrect when he doesn’t know which one is the problem then you are making it difficult for him. Just my simple explanation

As a developer, have you ever asked: Why is it dangerous to tell a user "that email doesn't exist" on a login form?

I see the standpoint and it does makes… just for clarity sake, this was what I had in mind about the flow If the email fails after the user is already created, you have an orphaned account that can never be activated. The user can't retry because their email is now marked as taken, and they never received the activation link. But based on my implementation, I added an exponential backoff retry for sending emails and only when it exhausts the retry does it clear the user and invite

Your registration endpoint shouldn’t leave orphaned users in the database when the welcome email fails to send. The problem: user creation lives in PostgreSQL. Email sending lives in an external service. You can’t wrap both in a single database transaction. The fix: if the email fails, delete the user and their invitation. This is the SAGA pattern. When a multi-system operation fails partway through, you compensate by undoing the completed steps. Built this today in Go with Resend for email delivery and PostgreSQL transactions for the rollback.

Not sure if it’s “professional” to share this, but when I first moved to the UK 🇬🇧, I did every menial job you can think of - kitchen porter, cleaner, warehouse. I’d take any shift. Tesco warehouse to Uni for Data Science & AI lectures to night shift at Cranswick. I wasn’t paying myself. Every penny kept the startup alive. Yet one employee back in Nigeria thought life was “rosy” because the founder is in the UK. So much story to share. Thank God for grace
Tosin Olugbenga@TosinOlugbenga

You are ignoring the fact that the "Nigerians in the diaspora" are most times struggling also in the abroad. That most of them are running multiple shifts to cover for their expenses. That whatever they can AFFORD to pay is the BEST they can do. And that most of the businesses they are running are not even making profit. The 600k you want them to pay must come from somewhere.. And like i have responded to you before, when you also move abroad, hopefully you also will take to your own advice.

This “global rate” pay talk on the TL is funny. A lot of people don’t understand basic economics, and it shows in their tweets. Pay is determined by local market conditions, not a universal global rate.

@akinkunmi @TosinOlugbenga The 2k for example is what most entry level roles in the UK pays. So are you implying offering 500k for the same job to a Nigerian living in Nigeria is exploitation?

@TosinOlugbenga What are you saying, bro? That's not what he's saying. You change the context. He's saying you offered someone in the UK $2k and they refused but now you're offering a Nigerian ₦200 - 500k to do the same job.

Yes, they are idiots. First let’s ask, what job is that person in the UK doing? The founder or business owner in the UK, what job is he doing? You want him to pay a developer in Nigeria $2k per month from his own £2500 monthly salary? Is the developer the only person working in the business? I think, it’s true…he is an idiot for trying to be a business owner from his £2500 monthly salary.
Ossy Vicenté@ossynoya

You’d be in the UK looking for a senior front end or backend dev but because you can’t pay the rates there, you look for cheaper options and you remember Nigerian devs are equally good. Now you offer them 200-500k naira to do same work you offered their counterparts there $2k and they refused. But yeah, Nigerian devs get “long throat” for not accepting such piss poor offer. Obviously because of how bad things are here, you’d always find people lining up for such offer. But you’re a fucking idiot.

@TosinOlugbenga Even if you’re running a business in the UK, there’s no way you would want to pay UK rates in Nigeria. Google, Microsoft, Amazon all adjust their pay based on location.
