We’re sorry we’ve been a little quiet.
Not because nothing is happening…
but because everything is happening.
This extreme winter weather has taken everything out of us. The temperatures have been brutal — single digits, with feels like temps dropping just as low — and keeping every single life here warm and safe has been an all-hands, around-the-clock effort.
We’ve made it through the coldest stretch so far, and we are incredibly grateful that we have not lost power or water. That alone feels like a miracle out here. But the reality is: we are not out of this yet.
Freezing temperatures are expected to continue for at least another week, and our supplies are being used up fast.
Right now, propane and straw are literally life-saving.
There is no way to sugarcoat that.
Propane keeps sanctuary houses, puppies, seniors, and medically fragile animals alive.
Straw is insulation, warmth, and the difference between comfort and suffering.
We cannot stress this enough — these supplies are critical in extreme weather like this. Even with daytime highs, the nights and wind chill are dangerous, and the cold lingers in the ground, in the buildings, in their little bodies.
We are exhausted, but we are here.
We are fighting for them.
And we need help to keep going.
