@1ssve Whenever something becomes popular the rich people figure out how to capitalize off it and ruin it for everyone else.

@bluejumbofish @atrupar The word he is looking for is "unemployment" FFS.
English

@gecffmn If an employer provides a good retirement pension with benefits than it is perfectly reasonable to have forced retirement when max pension has been achieved and able to start collecting making room for entry level hiring. If not everyone needs to shut up.

83-year-old Marie “Mo” Jefferson just hit her 50-year milestone working underground at Marion County Coal Mine in WV — and she’s STILL clocking in 6 days a week at 83!
First woman AND first Black woman ever hired there. Absolute legend.
This is what our politicians want for all of us.
Grind till you drop. No retirement. Just work forever.
Wild.

@atrupar Yes, showing respect. What a sign of weakness. Real power is raping children and wrecking the economy of an entire country.

@UnitedCanucks26 For some things yes but for other things no. If I can get a Canadian version of something yes I will support Canada first. But I won't necessarily go without if the only option is something American.

Experts estimate the U.S. will lose $4.5B to $6B in 2026 just from the Canadian tourism boycott. 📉
Add in the food & goods boycott and we’re looking at nearly A DOZEN BILLION dollars lost. Canadians are staying home and keeping their wallets closed. 🇨🇦💪
Canada’s got game. #BuyCanadian #TravelCanada

@TansuYegen Maybe some well deserved stitches and a tetanus shot

@UziCryptoo And who says that working a low paying job should mean you can afford to live alone? Living alone is very expensive so either get a higher paying job or roommates and split the bills.

In my area, In-N-Out and Chipotle are hiring around $20/hour for new workers.
Let’s say you even land full-time at 40 hours/week: $20/hour = $800/week
That’s $3,467/month before taxes.
After just 12% in federal taxes, you’re left with about $3,051/month take-home.
Now here’s the reality: Average one-bedroom apartment is around $2,000/month.
So even working full-time in fast food, 65% of your income disappears to rent alone.
That leaves you with about $1,050/month for:
• food
• transportation
• insurance
• phone
• savings
• emergencies
This isn’t a “budgeting problem.”
This is a cost of living crisis.
Working full time should never mean barely surviving.

@ick_real Trump Derangement Syndrome
Especially because it is people who have it that use it on people with common sense.

@Unconfirmed_ZA @msiziworld Seriously I fast forwarded at it's a baby

@MLBShotsFired This is what happens when we keep giving rich people power just because they are rich

@james_xond Hire enough doctors to provide as many people with primary care providers as possible in Canada

@dantypo When businesses, organizations and governments realized they could save money or make themselves more money by paying employees as little as legally allowed.

Am I the only one who still views minimum wage as gas money for your car and movie tickets for you and your date while you gain work experience in high school or at the bookstore in college?
When did it become a career wage?
JB Pritzker@JBPritzker
$7.25 an hour is about $14,000 a year. No one can survive on that. People can barely survive on double that. We raised the minimum wage in Illinois. It's long overdue everywhere else.
English

@jackrwilkie Nice thing about music stations.
You don't want to hear a song?
Change stations.
English

@1ssve I don't know anyone that wasn't hired due to a resume gap but if that gap creates a knowledge gap or causes you to be lacking experience they require then it is perfectly reasonable to not get hired.
