To be clear, I have many gay friends. I have no issue with two consenting adults doing what they want behind closed doors. What I do have an issue with is having it shoved down my throat for the entire month of June.

Tim Horton's banned unvaccinated children from participating in Timbits soccer, implemented vaccine passports across their locations and has actively replaced Canadians with foreign workers who wear flip flops and cut their toenails in the backroom. Meanwhile Dunkin Donuts never implemented a mandatory vaccine policy, allowed unvaccinated individuals to enter their establishments and they prioritize hiring real citizens. @MeagraMac I'm not saying that at all. I'm questioning whether that is, in fazct, what's happening. We shouldn't leap to that conclusion, here.

Everyone needs to calm down over this one. There's some important context missing, here. This would generally only happen in Canada if someone has expressed to a psychiatrist that they intend to harm themselves or someone else. If that doctor isn't able to have them detained at the time, they refer it to the police. It sounds like they have been trying to get in contact with him for this reason. They couldn't find him when they went looking for him, so there was most likely a BOLO issued. His plate got picked up and the officer would have had a note to detain him. Without the missing context, though, it's difficult to say, but it seems like this is the most likely scenario. So, no, police aren't just pulling people over and then arbitrarily taking them off to psych wards.
