It'd be great if there were more prosecutions of people like this clearly committing ouright fraud. This guy is buying counterfeits straight from AliExpress and selling them to unsuspecting buyers as authentic.

I processed the new active inventory of rmpcustomsportscollectibles, and the numbers are ugly. 65 of 70 new inserts matched cert numbers already seen by rmcxtysadyk supply. This is the real danger: inventory can be sourced in bulk, reframed, and then resold to American collectors through a normal-looking seller account with strong feedback and nothing obviously suspicious on the surface. That is exactly why trust in basic cert-only authentication keeps falling. Experienced collectors are already learning to avoid it. Another major concern is transparency. After eBay deactivated @AskeBay on X in March and ended social support channels, there is now even less public visibility into where users can escalate serious fraud concerns. Instead, people are being routed back to the Help page and automated support flow. A few more notes, discussing some of the PSA/FBI investigation. Hired a PI for card show surveillance, as the suspects "may be selling the counterfeits in-person locally, or through sites like Craigslist, since they've been booted off of eBay and almost every auction house." 😂

@KelVarnsenCards @NEOCards_Comics I think the thesis is that if there is a big hit to repacks, some of the money / liquidity offered by repackers leaves the market and card values will fall as a result. That may impact people who see cards mainly as investments, even if they don't do repacks or breaks.

I think people really don’t understand how much money repacks are injecting into shows. Leave the keyboard and go to show see what’s going on. They are the ultimate liquidity engine, if it gets turned off single prices and shows will see a major hit.
