I've been playing Fortnite since 2017, and the game's art style and characters have always captivated me... It's sad to know that the people who created the foundation for its overwhelming success are treated this way.

In the coming days, employers will see a stream of resumes of once-in-a-lifetime quality folks. An important thing to understand is that Epic never lowered our hiring standards as we grew, and the layoff wasn't a performance-based "rightsizing" as companies call it nowadays. It's a sound bet that anyone with Epic Games on their resume is in the top few percent of their discipline.

But something I presume wasn't intentional is the lack of use of the gerund; this is quite common in Brazilian Portuguese.
It's more natural to say "Estou praticando" instead of "Estou a praticar". Although both are correct.

Talking to most Americans is SO annoying as a Brazilian
Because my language portuguese, relies a lot on figures of speech and euphemisms to express emotions.
And Americans look at me weird taking it all literally, thinking I am exaggerating things on bad faith.

Encountering someone who is actually incapable of engaging in hypotheticals is jarring. I thought it was a meme. An exaggeration. I didn't think they existed. Trying to explain things to them is frustrating. They seem to be incapable of absorbing information.
