to add onto this: im not saying big cosplayers shouldnt go to cons, im just saying that theres people out there deliberetely going to small cons JUST to hoist in a basically ''free'' 3K or more prizepool and leave on a plane to the next con

sure they also worked up to be where they are, but its unfair/demotivating when most of the competition in a cosplay comp are people with >1000 or more being beaten by someone who has a 15K dollar cosplay

hot take, big competitive cosplayers traveling the world to participate in smaller local cons just to win eazy money is egotistical as fuck. especially cosplayers that have a ton of wins under their belt and the con is in a small populated area
