Today I received an award, it was for a cardiac arrest patient of mine who was discharged, neurologically intact. It was the 26 week gestation baby that we worked and got back. This is the good stuff y’all. For once in my career I cried happy tears.

Y’all keep underpaying and overworking EMS employees in this country then say shit like “You shoulda went to fire” or “you should have picked a different career” then they look like this when they have to wait 60 minutes for an ambulance:

Gearing up for the AM news cycle and people pontificating about why the ambulance waited on the ramp, why did they do CPR for 9 mins, where was the AED, and so forth.

@thatpowerslady @MedicTrommasher Oh SNAP! I don’t have to care about my patients seizure disorder or hypertension? They forgot to tell me that while getting my Bachelors degree. I could’ve graduated so much faster if all I had to do was keep people from bleeding out.

@MedicTrommasher Healthcare is maintaining optimum health. EMS is for keeping you from bleeding out on the side of the road. They don't care about your seizure disorder or blood pressure. While it is an important role, it is not healthcare. It's emergency care. There is a distinct difference

Seeing how much the world accepts that it’s impossible to move on after watching CPR really makes me think about how we (medical professionals, especially those who work in Emergency departments) are expected to just move on immediately after a code.

@Fire_Ice2901 Given the job, and the emotions attached to breast feeding I’m going in with the mindset of hybrid. I’m going to try my best to breast feed but not going to kill myself and sanity either. So much cheaper though!!

So how do you pick formula brand? Just walk up and decided, that one looks right?

@MedicInTheSouth We got a bunch of different samples and tried each long enough to figure out if it settled well with her belly. Ultimately, similar was our favorite and when I looked into it it was the closest in similarity to breast milk. For awhile we had to buy the gentle stomach one though.
