I am a white transplant (sorry everyone) but I do work around the boroughs and travel quite a bit through various different neighborhoods and a lot of these deep red areas are predominantly white

@mr_sanford_lyl And definitely still does! I suppose what stood out to me in op’s post was the “immigrant” enclave label because European ethnic enclaves are far more generationally tied to America at this point than the idea of being solely their European ethnicity

Gotta add additional context: a lot of these communities do come from European immigrants who came here as far back as 3 generations ago. You can argue that still counts as an ethnic enclave, sure, but the term “immigrant” just feels like a stretch past a certain point

@brkfstsanwich Not necessarily anymore, sure they’re generationally born of European immigrants but in a lot of these cases these are communities that have stayed put in such a multigenerational way that it seems a bit of a stretch to ascribe the “European Immigrant” label to them
