Update: Zane Richards gets pulled back in. Defeats world medalist from Turkey and then loses to Asian Champ from Kazakhstan next match. All IRTC athletes competed extremely well. Beat some tough guys and gained a lot of good data. Looking forward to a great spring!

@adamtirapelle The first sentence adds a lot of ambiguity. Are they going to say an underhook is not a meaningful attack? If you are grounded and driven out without a meaningful attack (pushed) is it points?

@CPyles8 I understand what you’re saying. Logistically it would be challenging but discluding these athletes is destroying the hope of the youth in some of our best pockets of wrestling. I just feel there is a solution out there.

@MedlinBryan Which ones? And do they want to host? Are you seeing the problem? UWW can’t just name a city as the host. The city has to want it. That’s what makes it a challenge. Easy to sit back and say “have it here” Then there’s the real world.

I don't find that simple at all. You just eliminated 29 European countries and the United States at a minimum.

@CPyles8 97 kg is going to be an all time greatest weight for the rest of this quad. Four Olympic champs possibly and most of them will have trouble getting visas in certain countries.

@CPyles8 Turkey has always been very active within UWW and hosted a cadet worlds a couple years ago. I didn’t go but heard great things about it. If they don’t want it there are other countries that are easy to get visas or visas aren’t required. .

@MedlinBryan What if Istanbul doesn't want to host? They don't even host a rankings event at present.

@CPyles8 There are others like Kazakhstan where it isn’t very difficult for any country to get a visa. But if you gave me the choice (which no one will) between hosting at central location every year or not having the best wrestlers in the bracket I’m choosing the central location
