When you love someone with intensity, it does not even feel like “long distance” in physical sense People assume that after days, weeks, years, the feeling must become weaker. They assume your physical needs, emotional needs, and daily needs will begin to matter more than the person. And yes, those things exist. But somewhere in all of this, we have forgotten the actual point of love. Love was never supposed to be a transaction of need fulfilment. We have become so transactional in the way we understand relationships. Everyone is measuring what they are getting, giving, whether the exchange is balanced, whether the other person is satisfying every immediate requirement. And I understand why people think that way, but that was never the highest nature of love. The point of love is to love for the sake of love itself. Even the term “long-distance relationship” feels strange to me. Time, money, health, circumstance, delay, separation, none of these become the thing that defeats love. When you love someone with your whole heart, you do not stop thinking about them just because they are far away. No matter how long it takes to meet them, to build a life together, they remain inside your mind. And if he loves you with the same depth, the same thing happens to him. Long distance does not test patience and loyalty separately, because patience and loyalty are not external performances you force yourself into. They become natural consequences of love. You wait and endure because you love.

The discussant for the session was Dr. Temjenmeren Ao @temjenao17, Associate Fellow, MP-IDSA @IDSAIndia, New Delhi. The session focused on the evolving trajectory of India–Malaysia relations,tracing phases from the post‑pandemic reset to the 2024 Comprehensive Strategic Partnership,highlighting deepening defence and maritime cooperation amid shifting geopolitics and heightened regional and global uncertainty.

✨ICWA-ISIS (Malaysia) Dialogue #Special Address on "Towards 70: The Future Trajectory of Malaysia-India Ties" by Datuk Prof Dr Mohd Faiz Abdullah, Executive Chairman, ISIS Malaysia @ISIS_MY was delivered on 13 July 2026 at 1100 hrs IST at #Sapru House. Prof Faiz stated that "both the partners in the recent past have realised the need to have a calculated engagement for dealing with turbulent global environment. Yet, as we laud demonstrated progress in bilateral ties, the two countries must guard against the risk of complacency, and not be bound by merely optics.The two partners need to frame relations in a way that leads to interdependence and interoperability to address shared challenges. And politically sensitive issues cannot become a substitute for honest engagement between the two sides. Broadly, and fundamentally, commitment towards the Global South should not be just used in advancing bilateral ties, but also for delivering public goods to the region". Amb. B.N. Reddy @BN_Reddy_8888, Former India's High Commissioner to Malaysia @hcikl chaired the Special Address and Amb. N. J. Gangte, Acting Deputy Director General, ICWA delivered the Welcome Remarks .
