In Nigeria, a child showing signs of autism is more likely to receive a spiritual referral than a clinical one. The system left that door open. In the UK, Black children are referred for autism assessment later than their white peers. When Black children are assessed, they are less likely to receive a diagnosis. In one country, difference is a spiritual problem. In another, the system reduces it to a clinical one. Both are failing the child in front of them. Rights must be the model. In the UK it is written in law but not always in practice. In Nigeria it is written in law but absent in both policy and practice. Build the pathway. 🧠⚖️ #AutismAcceptanceMonth

You can't get royalties for what you don't create. Nollywood actors and actresses are just performers, they ain't the ones who create the movie. You can't expect to get royalties for what you didn't create. Never! Even the Nigeria laws support this claim. Under the Copyright Act 2022, copyright ownership is primarily vested in the “author” or “creator” of a work, such as the producer, scriptwriter, or director in cinematograph films, rather than the performers. Although actors and actresses contribute skill and expression, they are classified as performers with “neighbouring rights,” not full authorship rights, meaning their entitlement to royalties is limited and usually depends on contractual agreements rather than automatic ownership.

Power does reveal character, but history isn’t optional. Abacha’s regime brought military dictatorship, Ogoni executions, Kudirat’s assassination, billions looted, and a gagged press with many living in fear of being locked in dungeons. Some families never recovered from the trauma and those old wounds have not healed fully. NADECO activists weren’t perfect including a few relatives of mine, but equating them as “worse” than that era romanticizes real atrocities many Nigerians suffered. Let’s critique today’s failures on rule of law and accountability across all sides, but let’s not rewrite the past to score points. I would equally frown tomorrow if someone says endsars protesters, are worse than murderous/criminal police officers. A New Nigeria needs facts, not selective memory. Let’s build Nigeria forward with truth. 🇳🇬

Yesterday defenders of democracy, today's destroyers, What a shame. What an irony of history, that the acclaimed defenders of democracy and human rights who claimed to have fought for democracy during the era of General Sani Abacha now find themselves worse than the man they opposed. Today, General Sani Abacha, once presumed face of oppression, will be remembered as seemingly more democratic and more respectful of human rights than the so-called champions of activism from the NADECO days. Power indeed reveals character. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

This couple had serious marital issues, and the man eventually filed for divorce. Immediately after the divorce was finalized, he relocated from Canada to Nigeria with their son, without the mother’s consent. The woman begged repeatedly to see her child, but he refused. She then took the legal route and fought for 10 years to gain access to her son, but all her efforts were unsuccessful. Recently, after she got married again, her ex-husband suddenly started calling, begging her to come and take the boy. He has even been reaching out to her family to plead on his behalf. However, the woman has made it clear that she is no longer interested in taking custody of the child. According to her, whenever the ex-husband allows the boy to speak to her on the phone, the child rains unprintable insults and abuses on her. She said, she has made peace with herself and longer want to be involved or bringing the child to stay with her, she’s only sending money to him. Like, is she over reacting?

Mr. Hundeyin's disengagement was due to repeated, and documented financial irresponsibility. The Board members no longer had confidence in his commitment to the core principles of WAW or in his work ethic. In due time, more communication will be made available on these issues.

I've been trying to stay away from politics Twitter, at least for 2 weeks but all these takes are beginning to annoy me. How is this even argument? Bola? Tinubu is 10 times worse than Abacha, 100 times worse than Buhari - and those two are absolute demons.

Before AIT deletes this tweet, Please retweet this post and take a screenshot for the world to see that Nafiu Bala resigned as at Aug2025 and there was ZERO controversies about his resignation UNTIL someone sinister decided to later use him to forment chaos in the ADC.
Africa Independent Television@AIT_Online

Leadership Tussle: Nafiu Bala Resigns As ADC Chairman By Funke Ogunlolu The 2023 Gombe governorship candidate and former national deputy chairman of the African democratic congress. Nafiu Bala has tendered his letter of resignation after declaring himself as the interim national chairman of the party. In the letter Addressed to the former national chairman of the party, Ralph Nwosu, Bala stated that his resignation was to pave way for smooth and effective coalition as well as restructuring the party. Bala assured that he is not abandoning the party and ready to serve in any capacity but the former Gombe governorship candidate was silenced on the David Mark-led interim leadership. The announcement came after the official handing over of ADC to the former Senate President and his team by the former national executive committee on Wednesday. During his declaration as the national chairman, Bala had accused Mark-led interim leadership of the ADC of hijacking the party through unconstitutional means and warned of impending legal action to challenge what he described as a “total surrender” of the party’s structure to external political actors. The former deputy national chairman emphasized that the party’s constitution clearly outlines the processes for leadership succession and that, in line with those provisions, he was now assuming the position of interim national chairman.
