This isn’t new. There have always been cases where a man, consumed by anger or a need for control, ends up hurting his own child just to get back at the mother. It’s known as spouse revenge filicide. It often happens during breakups, custody fights, or moments where he feels he’s “losing.” In those moments, the child stops being seen as a child and becomes a way to inflict pain. It’s deeply disturbing. And it reminds you how dangerous unresolved anger and control can become.

After my dad passed my mother remarried,so my step dad took us to the house he built in Ogun State.. While we were there my mum gave birth to a son for my step dad, they had a quarrel one day and my step dad took the baby out of the house and threw the new born baby barely 6 months into a nearby bush. I witnessed it live,I have never forgotten that day till today.

No medical doctor is trained to do a radiographer’s work. Doctors can specialise in radiology, different training, different scope. Both are essential, but one doesn’t replace the other. It's out of place for MDCN to regulate other healthcare workers and it should be resisted.

The question is can Medical Doctors really do the Medical Radiographers job???😁☺️

Benue 2025 in a communal research. I heard of, I saw families do this same shit in exchange for food. A few bowls of rice, oil, cash and roasted guinea fowl. Sad part is those kids are ruined with pregnancies and STDs.
S.@saratu

This happens a lot. When I worked in social welfare in Ekiti, there was a young girl who got pregnant under similar circumstances. Her family couldn't afford food, so they gave their daughter every week to a man who sold bread. He gave the family bread and 500 naira every week.

@saratu If they’re not selling these girls off as househelps, they’re selling them off to be sex slaves. It’s insane.

This incident really fucked me up. She was 12. The family tried to insist she deliver via natural birth, against doctor's advice that she deliver via CS. It was the same week we dealt with an incident of R'n'B (rape and beg) at the university. Draining.

On the eve of Palm Sunday, Christians in Syria were attacked by armed Islamist groups. One of the world’s oldest Christian communities has declined from 2.5M in 2011 to 300K today in Syria Reminder: Christians are the most persecuted, yet receive least attention & protection.

A few weeks ago, a patient came to the lab with a test request. We ran everything. Results were ready. But there was a problem… The doctor couldn’t access it immediately. Not because we didn’t do our job. Not because the patient didn’t pay. But because the system doesn’t “talk”. Different departments. Different processes. No connection. And now I’m watching professionals argue about who should control healthcare. Meanwhile, patients are still stuck in the middle of a broken system. This is bigger than any one profession. While we argue, patients are paying the price. Fix the system… or we’ll keep failing the people we’re meant to save.

Today’s reaction has made it clear that the majority of MAGA evangelicals don’t consider Catholics in the Middle East to be real Christians.

people say "women are not paid less, they just pick empathy careers." ok.!!! but who decided nursing and teaching are worth less? like we will pay a sales guy 150k to move numbers around, but pay a nurse pennies to literally keep people alive, or give a teacher crumbs and wonder why future generations are failing every test. it is not that empathy based work is less valuable it is that we’ve normalized underpaying it because it’s "women’s work."

We've been preaching know your scope and limitations on this space for a while now and suddenly MDCN feels it makes sense to intrude on ours and other professions to the point the want to scrap some? Make it make sense to me.

If you have a "house-help" below the age of 16 - congratulations, you are a slave owner, and would be a wanted criminal in many parts of the world. Stop using kids as house helps, hire grown-ups and pay them a wage.

An 11 year old girl came to register for antenatal at the hospital but said she was 17. We could clearly see she was not 17 so we pressed further until she said her real age. We asked her and she said the man that impregnated her was the person that brought her to the hospital but he stayed outside at a distance. We came up with a plan to lure him in, then the police was alerted. They eventually came and took him away, while her parents were also contacted. The next day I asked for update of the case and the police said they released the man because the girl’s father paid the man’s bail. The girl’s father said he gave the girl to the man as debt settlement of money he borrowed but couldn’t pay back. How much did he borrow? ₦150k 🤦🏾‍♀️
