They want to turn every human interaction, from a private email to where and how you drive your car, into a transaction they can track, predict, and sell. We're not even living anymore, we're just livestock in their digital farm.

Give A Shit About Nature

France passed a law requiring solar panels on every parking lot with more than 80 spaces. Parking lots over a certain size have three to five years to cover at least half their surface area with solar canopies or face fines. The projected output: up to 11 gigawatts of capacity, the equivalent of 10 nuclear reactors. The panels shade the cars. They can charge EVs directly underneath them. They generate electricity for the grid. The parking lot goes from dead infrastructure to power plant without using a single additional acre of land. France plans to increase solar tenfold and double wind capacity by 2033. The US has approximately 800 million parking spaces. Eight hundred million. Most of them are uncovered asphalt sitting in direct sunlight. Why aren't we doing this?

They’re letting the criminals from Jan 6 go free while they attempt to prosecute Cassidy Hutchinson for testifying in front of the January 6th committee. Disgusting stuff.
The Washington Post@washingtonpost

Breaking news: Federal prosecutors are seeking to wipe out the seditious conspiracy convictions of 12 members of the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers who helped plan the Jan. 6, 2021, riots and led the charge into the U.S. Capitol, according to documents. wapo.st/48C8JBB

The man who spent years whining that the government illegally spied on his campaign is now demanding Congress let him spy on every American—without a warrant. FISA 702 is the real threat to Americans’ privacy: warrantless surveillance of U.S. persons under the guise of targeting foreigners. Far bigger than the Title I abuse Trump complains about. Stop electing hypocrites who trash the Constitution. Tell Congress: Vote NO on FISA 702.

Not only did Disney pay nothing in income taxes this year, it received a $1.428 billion tax refund after making $12 billion in profits. "Corporations will create jobs if you give them more tax breaks" is a total scam.

Trump needs to be removed from office; he has clearly lost what little control of himself he had. He is a disgrace. The only good thing is that his derangement is becoming clearer even to his strongest supporters, so maybe the country can salvage its reputation after he's gone.

it does seem as if a foreign adversary has taken over the US & in plain view is dismantling its programs, institutions, missions & ideals. the most acute observers among younger generations must be looking upon this with dismay, despair, outrage--their US will be tragically diminished compared to the US most of us grew up in. it's hard to believe that much of US science research is being terminated -- the country used to be so proud of its great scientists. not to mention medical research.
Robert Zubrin@robert_zubrin

Here is the list of NASA science missions that the Trump administration proposes to terminate. Note that it includes many missions that are already in space, fully operational. This is a wrecking operation against America.

Every oncologist should watch Ben Sasse’s interview with Ross Douthat. I was captivated by his courage, serenity, and his ability to articulate what so many of our patients feel and experience. Ben and I don’t share the same political or religious beliefs, which made it all the more compelling. A few things stood out: * His physicians struggled to deliver the “hard facts.” They led with advances in oncology before telling him he had cancer, wanting to stay positive. I’ve been there - it’s incredibly tough to balance truth with hope. We need to be frank with our patients, even when it’s difficult. I also imagine that the story didn’t play out exactly as Ben recollected, but perception is reality for our patients. * Ben asked for “Oncology 101”: chemo vs. radiation vs. surgery vs. targeted therapy. He kept saying “teach me” - he needed a map. I love that. Every patient deserves this navigation. Cancer is overwhelming without a clear direction. * He’s on a drug targeting a cancer gene long considered “undruggable.” We’re making real progress and occasionally witnessing “miracles” in clinic - responses grounded in cancer biology. This progress depends on funding and clinical trials. This is how we move the field forward. * The flip side is that these treatments carry real toxicity. Ben’s face makes this painfully clear. I am constantly amazed at what many patients are willing to endure and the resilience that they show. * Ben loves his hospice team. They gave him a practical framework for managing four variables: cancer pain, nausea, balancing diarrhea and constipation, and energy/fatigue. He noted that oncologists often steer conversations to their own agenda (scans, treatment, etc). I’ve been guilty of this too. We need to listen more. * Despite being given a prognosis of a few months, Ben keeps his great sense of humor. After watching this, I feel we could actually be friends. Political labels might once have gotten in the way - and that’s on me. Confronting death strips away differences and magnifies what we share. * Ben on the digital culture we live in: “These super-devices in our pockets, the largest tools any individual has ever had, allow our consciousness to leave the time and place where we actually live… the places where we break bread, the people we can physically touch and hug.” This is so true. * Ben doesn’t fear death, but he fears misprioritization. Dinner time is precious. There’s a limit to work trips. Live near family. Cancer forces laser focus on what matters most. When people who are dying share these pearls, all of us need to listen and consider it a gift. Highly recommended. Wishing you the best, @BenSasse. nytimes.com/2026/04/09/opi…
