I've heard there was disturbance by photographers of little terns on South Gare, Redcar today. Reminds me that @teesmouthbc published a helpful guide for photographers on their website. Would be great if folk would check it out. #RespectBirds. @teesbirds1 @nybirdnews

One of those species that slips below the radar when not tazzing around in murmurations. Think Starling not Blue Tit for your first choice of nestbox.
Francis Buner@fbuner

UK #starlings have declined 57% since 1995. That is equal to a loss of 2.4 mio breeding pairs in just 20 years. Installing suitable #nestboxes in areas where starlings still nest, is likely to help increase local populations. Any #birder living near paddocks should have one.

Dear @annaturley I urge you to oppose the nature-weakening Fingleton Review, being discussed in Parliament on 3rd March. Surely Labour is aware that it is shedding supporters to the Green Party. Ignore the importance of nature conservation at your peril. @Ed_Miliband #Labour

I've had a relapse of my long standing illness. Been in hospital 9 days so far & over the worst although it was another near miss. Told its going to be a very long & slow recovery this time so might not be out & about for some time. Cheers everyone

Superb garden birdwatch today, highlight being a very unexpected flyover of four ravens, all cronking as they flew. Fabulous sight & sound. Fieldfare, redwing & song thrush making a welcome appearance also. @teesbirds1 @nybirdnews @Natures_Voice #birdwatching

@DarrenNWoodhead Hi. My wife Cath Hargreaves tried to buy 5, but I think she missed it. Are 5 and 9, the belted kingfishers, both sold? Thanks. Graham

After the Big Dip at Bempton yesterday, I can now happily say the decision to go back to Filey for 1st light today paid off! The White-throated Needletail gave astonishing good views at Scarborough Castle! Everything that’s ever been said about this species is true. Just awesome!
