Okay so saying “I’m not Islamophobic, I just know what Islam teaches” does not actually solve the problem in the statement. It simply replaces the label with a sweeping generalization. Islam is practiced by roughly two billion people across dozens of cultures and countries, and like every major religion it contains multiple interpretations, traditions, and schools of thought. Treating that entire population as if they all believe or behave the same way is not awareness. It is oversimplification. You are absolutely free to disagree with religious doctrines. People criticize Christianity, Judaism, Islam, and every other belief system all the time. But jumping from “I disagree with certain teachings” to assuming every Muslim personally hates you is a leap that ignores the reality of how diverse Muslim communities actually are. Most Muslims are living ordinary lives just like anyone else. They are raising families, working jobs, and participating in society without any interest in harming people who believe differently. Criticizing ideas is fair. Assuming the worst about millions of people because of their religion is where the argument stops being about ideas and starts becoming about prejudice...
