@Meibanfa01 @MarioNawfal It’s the extended transit time that’s the issue. I believe it is an extra 20 days? Would have been ok if we had good reserves to support this gap. Our reserves of 30 days is cutting it very thin.

@armchr_analyst @MarioNawfal That is a legitimate concern. Our reserve is 30 day (closer to 40 I think) but that is without consideration for current production levels. I need to look at that numbers again, but with current production levels we need to pull a much smaller amount of oil from the reserve.

Tim Hawkins stated that one F-35 did make an emergency landing in Saudi Arabia, but declined to directly confirm what caused the incident. This puts on full display the differences of opinion within the IC on the Taiwan issue, which have been growing over the years; it has become a common theory that China would prefer to take Taiwan indirectly rather than fighting for it, due to the costliness of invading such a nation as Taiwan. Within the Intelligence Community, official assessments are often centered around who's the loudest, and not necessarily who's right. Opinions on China have largely been a knife-fight within the IC for a while now, and the DNI report might reflect a change of heart on the Taiwan issue. For years, the loudest voices have been that China was planning a full-scale invasion of Taiwan, which is still a very solid theory. The DNI's report is surprising for very nuanced reasons: This report acknowledges that there is another possible theory, and that the alternative (the peaceful economic takeover) is actually most likely. Either way, the war in the Middle East has complicated the situation, and however that conflict works out will determine how much political influence the Chinese have in their quest to expand their regional dominance.
