@MeinGottNiles i know the feeling. working on a book now on old brewery serving trays I shot 25 years ago and restoring and upscaling all the old 5mp files to a usable size. grueling! this is after, before is unusable.

English

I controlled every aspect of this video. Each scene was prearranged by me before being animated. AI simply replaced the camera and crew that I can’t afford.
Ask AI to “reimagine Take On Me” and you’ll get slop. Use AI to project from your own imagination and you’ll get this.

@havefun997 @karatademada Ok this one has me a bit convinced actually. I'm not even joking.
English

@jimbunte Nah I don’t mind at all. I might make a thread, there’s just a lot to it and I have to catch up on work I put off while making that last video.
English

@MeinGottNiles would love to see the image prompts and the animation prompts - though i understand why you wouldn't want the secret sauce in public.
English

@AlfredAlfer77 Yes, those critiques betray a lack of understanding. Someone compared my video negatively to flash animations he used to enjoy. Who does he think made those? You, me, etc.
English

I just got another comment like this which brings to mind @MeinGottNiles latest post about his process of AI animation.
These posts always make me laugh because it insinuates that Directing, Editing, Storyboarding, Writing, etc. are not talents; Scorsese didn't have talent because he didn't sculpt every element of the film by himself and *only* directed. Editors in post-production who cut the film together are not talented because they are *only* editing. Paul Schrader did not have talent because he *only* wrote the screenplay of Taxi Driver.
All of these skills and talents are still required to make a quality AI animated film, and all are usually done by a single person. The person commenting is claiming I am not using my talents anymore because I didn't animate every single frame of this animation by hand - which I am capable of and have done for 20 years.
But these people never seem to understand that the 55 minutes of Will Stancil Show animation that I've done in 4 months would traditionally have taken me nearly 4 years, lmao. As I always say, Independent Animators are the only artists who are expected to do the jobs of hundreds of people. And when one finds an incredible tool that radically shortens the back-breaking labor while still allowing one to have full creative control (the equivalent of getting a studio of Korean animators) they then claim you are not an artist, or your new films do not require talent.
Really the only way to rationalize how someone could make such an absurd conclusion as this is that a) they never have seriously attempted to animate or make a film in their life and b) they have <90 IQ.

@AlfredAlfer77 you have so much talent you literally dont need to do this
English

@Tomasuenim I have in the past, but this one was all in my head.
English

@CereusKnight Ah, yes, but this was more poignant. Better to have loved and lost etc.
English

@MeinGottNiles You lost me when she didn't get out to join him, or he didn't get in to join her.
Gotta have a happy ending, Mr. Payne.
English

@theBasedPrince I would often create both a start and end frame and have AI generate what happens in the middle based on my instructions.
English

@MeinGottNiles Do the start with a single image and have the AI extrapolate a several second sequence from that or do you animate a whole sequence with (stick figures?) and then have the AI paint over it?
English

@WForest1803 Yep. All @Gab__AI. Consistency varies based on the model. There are many to choose from in Gab. Kling is one of their options and works well for that.
English

@MeinGottNiles Thats from gab ai? Incredible. Is there any problem with keeping the character visually consistent from shot to shot? That's the issue I'm having.
English

@MeinGottNiles @shotpianist How much description do you provide it to get the scene to look exactly the way you want?
English

@myth_pilot @majur_56 Exactly. It’s the same principle that guided my older, completely hand-drawn videos.
English

@MeinGottNiles @majur_56 Great storyboarding basically. The same as an any animation film director.
English

@CryptoOnlyCoims @GoodAmericanMan Very. I guided the camera movement, angle, objects and arrangement of the scene, expressions and actions, etc, down to a fraction of a second. I rerendered some scenes dozens of times just to get it right.
English

@MeinGottNiles @GoodAmericanMan How detailed do you have to be when explaining it to ai?
English

It should also be noted that some of this was animated by hand. But anyway, that’s the difference.
@notch glad you enjoyed it.
English

@APepeIsFineToo @notch @karatademada Thank you but no AI was used in the making of Chudrick. This was done by hand.

Indians got my friend @kikisknees locked by mass reporting him, and are gloating about this blatant platform manipulation in their group chat.
What possible benefit are we supposed to derive by sharing X with these scamming third-worlders?
