@PMoonconfession First is true, but I think Shiomi didn't want Ryoshu to become her anyways. The Dihui Star's blade intention of making a mark upon the earth, and Shiomi unable to accomplish that, really shows that Shiomi didn't want to be erased and forgotten and wished the same for Ryoshu.

@PMoonconfession And by them being unintentional, I mean they don't particularly realize what they are doing is abusive. Valencia was probably raised the exact same way as she treats Ryoshu, Matthais and Callisto are ignorant to Ryoshu because in truth they're too busy in their own worlds.

@PMoonconfession He kind of IS snapping though, the whole metaphor behind him cutting the ropes around the gate and the flashings of emotion (including anger) is he is finally letting the pent up emotions within his heart let loose all at once.

I've seen a shocking amount of people that believe Hong Lu should have snapped/distorted/etc. in his canto and I don't think they understand his character in the slightest

Ricardo will obviously get similar treatment, but lets not pretend that Ricardo isn't a B Plot to the story compared to Ricardo. Ricardo has the same narrative role as Yan does in library of ruina, if you get what I am saying. Jia Huan has sort of the narrative luxury on his side

And this is not to 'Potential Man' Jia Huan, its fairly obvious that narratively that is what he is going to be doing until something happens. We used to call Argalia a bum for his reception with the Church of Gears until he actually started trying, but look at where he is now!!!

I'm annoyed with the level of power scaling PMtwt handles Jia Huan just because of how the story presents him in 1 fight. Even despite that, it blatantly ignores the intense levels of training N Corp can really provide, way more intense than even Spring Cultivation Xichun.
