Republicans blocked standalone bills to fund TSA, FEMA, and the Coast Guard separately. Grok literally says it right there in the last sentence. The disagreement between us was never about whether Democrats blocked the full bills, I have never denied that. Bail decisions are made by judges applying state law, that is how the court system works. Republicans blocked nine DHS funding bills, that is the Congressional Record with named senators and recorded votes. Saying someone is lying without identifying a single false claim is not a rebuttal, it is a way to end a conversation you cannot win. The judge who set bond nine times was not elected on a defund the police platform. Bail decisions are made by individual judges applying state law, and the broken bond system that lets repeat offenders walk is a problem in red counties and blue counties alike. If you want tougher bail standards, that is a policy position I can respect, but it requires changing the law, not just blaming liberals. And the defund the police movement was rejected by Democratic leadership, Biden ran on funding the police and signed a bill putting more officers on the street. Meanwhile the party that claims to back law enforcement just let 100,000 DHS workers go unpaid for 40 days and blocked nine bills to fund them. The same party also pardoned thousands of riders who violently attacked police officers on January 6… Soft on crime is not a partisan trait, it is a policy failure that crosses party lines, and pretending otherwise is how it never gets fixed.

But the framing of putting white in scare quotes to imply that his race classification on a booking sheet is some kind of Democratic conspiracy is doing something very specific, which is suggesting that a clerical racial category on a jail form is evidence of a coverup rather than the fact that Hispanic individuals are routinely classified as white on booking documents in most US jurisdictions because that is how the forms are structured. And the outrage over being released on bond nine times is a legitimate criticism of the local court system, but that is a judicial issue, not an immigration issue, because US citizens charged with the same crimes get released on bond under the same broken system every single day. If you want to be angry about repeat offenders getting bond, be angry about bail reform across the board, not only when the defendant was born in another country.
