On 15 October 1985, apartheid security forces carried out the Trojan Horse Massacre in Athlone, Cape Town. Police and South African Railways officers hid inside a disguised flatbed truck, concealed behind wooden crates, and drove through Thornton Road to provoke protesting youth. When some of the youths threw stones at the vehicle, the officers suddenly revealed themselves and opened fire with live ammunition without any warning directly into the crowd. Three young people were killed: Michael Miranda (11), Shaun Magmoed (15), and Jonathan Claasen (21), while many others were seriously injured. The incident exposed the extreme brutality of apartheid-era policing and the deliberate targeting of young protesters. Although a 1988 inquest later found the police actions to be “unreasonable,” no officers were ever prosecuted or held accountable for the killings.

@Thabiso_Sib @ThatoDM Yeah same with Strategy & Management Consulting in Consulting, especially Strategy. Mainly pushed to "service" roles, tech support & such. You dare try to push the ladder back down as the "only black leader" who made it through & it won't be long till you're shown the door.

@ThatoDM I’m always interested in seeing the demographics of candidate attorneys retained in their Corporate & Commercial + Banking & Finance departments. I don’t even get shocked anymore. They continue to strategically move black legal professionals away from those fields.

It is imperative that we meticulously examine the practice areas into which black legal professionals are being advanced at those firms. Commercial litigation and employment cannot be the only fields demonstrating progress in this regard.

@AppollisPe69411 @JohnDoe_ZAR @Action4SA Lol, that you can't weave a thread through logic is a YOU problem. The fact is that history proves that when white people are left with a choice they default to RACISM, not merit based consideration, hence we need BBBEE to counter that! But go on with you "superior logic" 😂

I just read the 70 page manifesto of @Action4SA , I was so close to being deceived, I nearly shared my vote with them. On page 28-29, it reads “Action SA will repeal BBBEE and replace with it with an inclusive EE framework that focuses on equality of opportunity rather than compliance-driven racial outcomes” So for starters, I don’t think @Action4SA knows what BBBEE is and secondly, I don’t think they are well informed on the inequalities in the country. @GaytonMcK was right… @Action4SA is actually more dangerous than the DA, their policies are not too far from the @Our_DA

@AppollisPe69411 @JohnDoe_ZAR @Action4SA Yeah the whole black = incompetence and white = competence, despite the fact that only 20% (white people) had running water pre-1994 versus over 80% now. Pure racism, but no "it's not about race". 🙄

@Melizana195 @JohnDoe_ZAR @Action4SA When educated, why do you have to be placed first in the line because of race. Your accomplishments from school, experience and skills should speak for themselves. That's why everything is falling apart because, just of right race, you will be elevated.

Paraffin is currently R32 per litre, it’s set to increase again. It is mostly used by the poor of the poor, those who stay in shacks and have no access to electricity. Having paraffin at home means having warm water, meal, lights How will the people cope with this increase 😔

@AppollisPe69411 @JohnDoe_ZAR @Action4SA Yep, many of us. We got to go to University & be engineers, CAs, lawyers, actuaries. Then we got to go into the workforce & practice those skills to earn a living. Without BBBEE that would not have hapenned. The attack on it is simply a call for return of apartheid conditions

All by design unfortunately. The looters are just tools, the agenda is to de-capacitate the state, then the looters become a credible scapegoat to conceal who's really behind the plan. The agenda is achieved with a couple of headlines & never-ending cases, no consequences.
Ous'Bongie@BongsMahlangu_

Whilst corruption cartels are looting state funds and sending their Instagram baddie girlfriends on endless vacations, government hospitals are struggling to pay their hard-working doctors on time, absorb more interns and barely have enough resources for staff to efficiently serve the public. I truly wonder if South Africa can be saved 💔

Some @1life_insurance agents in Bizana have been signing up elderly recipients of @OfficialSASSA grants for a generational cover that costs just over R200, deducting from the grant before it gets to the bank. No informed consent, because many of them are too old & can’t read.

Everything the DA does is about returning to the cheap black labour that made them rich during apartheid. That is their ideology and why they want you to think ideology isnt important. You dont exploit people at National level but somehow prioritise them at local level.
Petite Ebony Girl 🇵🇸@PetiteEbonyGirl

The aim of this bill is to reduce the pay disparity that exists between white and black workers. The DA is trying to stop this bill from being passed, just as they opposed the increase of the minimum wage. The DA is an enemy of the black working class. Vote responsibly.
