POINT: James Maddison has had a huge impact on Spurs this season. YOU: “Best player in the world this season” REALISM: He’s done amazingly well but the ‘best player in the world’ should have made more of an impact during the international breaks for his country. POINT: Cole Palmer is going to have a breakout year. YOU: “Performing a La Messi” and will “score more this year than Saka and Bellingham.” REALISM: Hes doing well but failed to score in open play this season for Chelsea. Early for calling him out ahead of Messi and Bellingham. POINT: Spurs are in the mix for the league this year. YOU: “If Spurs sign Laporte they go from title contenders to title favourites” REALISM: Spurs are in the mix, but suggesting City’s 6th choice CB makes spurs FAVOURITES when they have a thin squad is eye opening to say the least. Definition of engagement hunting. Nothing wrong with that. You make good points early before many others do. But just own it that you write in a way to get attention and trigger debate and controversy. When you get said attention you don’t need to then start retreating that you support a lower league club which is kind of irrelevant to the engagement hunting you do with your analysis.
