@taylr @MelodySWV Live right next to this building and it’s been just as bad all winter. The surrounding buildings/landlords don’t care either, and let unhoused break in and steal from neighboring buildings without changing door buzzer codes. The owners of all these buildings needs to be sued

i’m mad at this vacant or condemned apartment building that keeps having fires, likely from people seeking shelter. this is going to be a problem once it starts getting really cold. why are property owners allowed to let it sit like this when there’s such a housing shortage?

What do Minneapolis people think? If you lived half a block from a park, corner store, school, or library with no busy streets, would you send your 5yo for a quick errand or linkup?

My receipt that I was in Northeast:

My brother had me guess what time the sunset last night and I was delightfully wrong when I guessed 4:40 p.m. The sun is now setting at 4:55 p.m. This sunset was captured from Northeast Minneapolis where we watched the Packers lose (We are from Wisconsin). Sun is up at 7:48 a.m.

Paul Douglas, a Twin Cities meteorologist, is no longer "bitching about cold fronts" due to "firenados" in L.A. That feels fair to me.

Buried in tomorrow's Mpls Pub Schools BOE agenda is a pres on the audit; slide 16 (below) pretty much says it all. I predict that MPS will be *transparent* w/this info, but not *candid* & that distinction's important when you're running out of $. We need & deserve candor.

@taylr @mndailynews The email I received had no date next to the time and then Jake followed up the next day (Dec. 10) asking if anyone from our publication would be available to attend the announcement "tomorrow" which would have been Dec. 11.

@WedgeLIVE I was thinking about this part. Isn't some of the property tax increase due to wage increases for Park & Rec workers? And other "fairly recent" reasons?

Koski: We're seeing highest property tax levy increase in a decade. Through two terms, Frey put in place no performance management system to measure success or failure. Didn't take critical look at budget. "I'm fighting tooth and nail to reduce his property tax levy."
