Last month I saved my nephew from a terrible mistake
He built an iPhone app that went viral and already generates €60k a month in profit
A big American company wanted to invest, so he came to me for an advice
"Uncle, they are offering me 4 million euros!"
I burst out laughing
"For what? You don't even have a master's degree"
"But it can be really big, and Google wants to invest..."
"Wilhelm, anyone can build an app. But without education you will be nobody in Europe" I said
He nodded quietly
Today I learned that he shut the app down and soon he starts his master's at TU Darmstadt
Thank God I was there when he needed me, this could have ended in a complete disaster

🇮🇹🇪🇺 This is utterly unacceptable. Reports indicate that Giorgia Meloni is preparing to sideline Roberto Cingolani, CEO of Leonardo, Italy’s largest defence group. The reason? Multiple sources suggest this is not about performance - under Cingolani, Leonardo’s stock has registered a +700% increase - but rather about the “Michelangelo Dome”. Leonardo’s new AI-based air defence system, reportedly set to be tested in Ukraine in 2026, is now seen as “too competitive” for Washington. According to several reports, Cingolani’s perceived “too European” stance - focused on strengthening Europe’s strategic autonomy - may have played against him. If confirmed, this would be a political decision against Europe’s industrial and strategic interests. European states cannot claim sovereignty, and then punish those who actually try to build it.

microsoft IPO'd at an $800m market cap and did a 6000x+ in the public markets (dividends reinvested)
Anthropic, the next microsoft++, will enter the public markets north of $1T -- with relatively little upside left
retail (100m+ americans!) having no exposure or extremely-late-exposure to many of the best companies in the world is bad for everyone imo
