@volklub And yes as long as ICE cars are available, I will not get an EV as a primary car. At most I might consider an EV as a 2nd car.

@volklub Voted for Can't Say because it depends on when I replace my current car and whether my driving situation changes. As of now my current car has a valid registration till 2033 and service and reliability have been very good. My usage doesn't require an EV, a petrol suffices.

@Autoweltmedia @Supercars_13 @Vis_subaru So basically Mercedes are going backwards. I wish they'd fire their current interior designers and get back the ones who used to design their interiors say 10 to 15 years back.

Mercedes-Benz C-Class, W206, fully touchscreen interior is absolutely pointless. You sit inside… and it feels like you’re in front of two monitors. Everything is a screen. Hardly any buttons when you don't count the steering wheel. And that’s the problem when basic things are hidden in menus. You have to look, scroll and search while driving. With buttons, it was instant, you press, it works, you turn the knob to change the volume. You adjust the climate control comfortably with a dial, Here, it’s slower and more distracting, yes it looks modern, but it’s worse to use.

@PulakPrakriti @TorqueIndia If you're comparing it with the Harrier EV, yes, the Harrier has better cabin space and boot space. The Curvv also has slightly better boot space and head room in the back, but passenger leg room is better in the BE6.

@ferrarirules86 @adityalala2000 @volklub Also about the beration of powertrain choice, Sir, the number of EV people who set about shouting at anyone even remotely suggesting an ICE vehicle may be better is slightly larger than the number of ICE people shouting at people for getting EVs.

‘Gamechanger’ is the word. With just 15 km/h average speed and driven for 4:30 hours in heavy city traffic with AC, four on board, car has still returned 8.5 km / kw This simply means that Creta 51 kWh will return 400+ km range in heavy traffic with AC This is insane efficiency. Hyundai deserves a lot of credit here. Hyundai basically can anytime pull out their A game in EVs in passenger segment when time will demand that. I understand that some variants are expensive but 42 kWh Executive at 18.99 and Executive (O) 51 kWh at 19.99 is definitely ok if we consider Hyundai’s Network, reliable tech, practicality and efficiency. I repeat, the best part is, this car doesn’t feel like an EV, no nausea feeling, top grade glass area & easy to use interiors.

Parked my primary Diesel car inside to use Creta Electric for city tasks today 92% charged Will be travelling for 3-4 hours in heavy traffic, parked with AC on at some places. Typical realistic use for a long day. Family loves it so… Let’s see how it goes. Note: It feels satisfying & great when you charge at home. Feels like you have a lot of cash in your pocket. Same feeling.

@ferrarirules86 @adityalala2000 @volklub Those who want the convenience of EVs and have a bit of discipline+ home charging, are welcome to them. Those that still want fun and mechanical engagement can have their ICE cars why push EVs on them, when they don't want or can't have EVs due to various factors/ limitations.

@ferrarirules86 @adityalala2000 @volklub Anyway as mentioned earlier in the discussion, we are still coming from 2 different areas. And in this thread itself it has been said that each drivetrain has its place and can be ideal for different people based on their needs.

@shreemallatheru @adityalala2000 Yet of these only the Kylaq and the 3XO can put a smile on the face of people who want the feel of driving, going around corners and engaging with the engine and gearbox, getting that oh so sweet perfect upshift or downshift.

@shreemallatheru @adityalala2000 The last 2 are currently ICE only. The Nexon is a decent all round car in all drivetrains. As we have said earlier enjoyment means different things to different people. So yes people will enjoy the EVs and CNG cars (ICE again) because they fulfill their needs.

EVs have straight-line speed, sure, but they miss the entire soul of driving. We are devotees of power, performance, and noise! EVs areust a ton and a half, two tons of wires, glass, metal, and rubber. An ICE vehicle feels like a 'living entity' you actually develop a

@shreemallatheru @adityalala2000 If home charging isn't possible EVs are not yet for you. If you can charge at home and learn to plan your running EVs are an option. If both these aren't possible or you want to have fun with an affordable car, ICEs are your friends.

@shreemallatheru @adityalala2000 Those who want A to B transportation in comfort and silence with no need or want for engagement will take EVs. Additionally practical considerations also apply, if you can charge at home and plan your trips and don't need fun EVs are perfect for you.

@shreemallatheru @adityalala2000 The Creta is an inoffensive family car with a set of good engines and a lot of features except the N Line which is fun. I haven't driven a 7XO but the older 7OO actually handles well for a big bus, it is surefooted around corners and can be hustled unlike SUVs at that price point

@shreemallatheru @adityalala2000 While I can't comment on the latest versions of any of these, the Baleno is very easy to drive and a comfortable family car. The Nexon has a very good ride on typical Indian roads, a very good diesel engine and a decent petrol engine.

@shreemallatheru @adityalala2000 The soul that enthusiasts look for can be found in many bog standard ICE cars, the communication from the chassis and the wheels and the feedback from the engine and gearbox. I guess that's where the disconnect is sadly, for now, only high end performance EVs have some soul.

@shreemallatheru @adityalala2000 Every drivetrain has its space and use case absolutely. The soul bit of it is complicated, EVs except high performance ones are amazing A to B transportation but don't offer the thrill that enthusiasts seek, but are perfect for someone who wants zen in their commute.
