I've seen the videos. I've read the commentary. And I'll say what most people are afraid to say publicly There is nothing absolutely NOTHING constitutionally irregular, legally problematic, or even ethically questionable about Sir Wicknell Chivayo @wicknellchivayo standing on the President's motorcade. The President of Zimbabwe is not your neighbour's child. He is a Head of State with full EXECUTIVE AUTHORITY over who occupies his space, his convoy, and his time. If President Mnangagwa chose to have Sir Wicknell Chivayo on that motorcade, that is a presidential prerogative full stop. What I find far more troubling than Sir Chivayo's presence on a motorcade is the obsessive, almost pathological fixation some people have developed around this man. What is it about Sir Wicknell Chivayo that drives otherwise rational commentators into hysteria?Is it his wealth? His proximity to power? His unapologetic visibility?Because none of those things are crimes in Zimbabwe or anywhere else. It's pure envy dressed in the language of civic concern. Sir Wicknell Chivayo is a Zimbabwean citizen.President Mnangagwa is his President. The rest is noise.
