Dear Young Nigerians, One lesson from the 2023 elections, particularly in Lagos, should never be forgotten. In the period following the presidential election and leading up to the governorship election, we witnessed a troubling shift in public discourse. Conversations that should have focused on competence, governance, development, and the future of our nation were gradually diverted towards tribal sentiments, ethnic divisions, and unnecessary suspicion among citizens. Many sincere and well-meaning Nigerians participated in these conversations without realising that they were being drawn into narratives carefully designed by others. Throughout history, whenever politicians find it difficult to compete on ideas, performance, character, or vision, some resort to exploiting the fault lines of ethnicity, religion, and identity. Their calculation is simple: a divided people are easier to manipulate than a united people. Today, I see similar efforts emerging again, sometimes in more subtle and sophisticated ways. Narratives are planted, amplified, and circulated, often by individuals who genuinely believe they are defending a worthy cause, without recognizing the broader agenda behind such campaigns. Let me state clearly that Pastor Enoch Adeboye remains one of the foremost fathers of faith in our nation. For decades, he has consistently preached the virtues of peace, prayer, love, reconciliation, and national unity. Even when faced with provocation, his response has always reflected humility, restraint, wisdom, and grace. At 84 years of age, it would be unfair for young and able-bodied Nigerians to transfer to him responsibilities that properly belong to them. The task of building a better Nigeria rests primarily on the shoulders of the younger generation. It is their duty to lead the conversations, champion the reforms, and drive the positive change our nation urgently requires. We must be careful not to become instruments in the hands of those who secretly nurture division while publicly preaching unity. In most cases, their target is not the individual being attacked; instead, it is the person who is attacking. Their real objective is to weaken the bonds that hold us together as one people and one nation. I therefore urge all young Nigerians: do not allow anyone to recruit you into hatred. Do not allow anyone to weaponise your ethnicity, your faith, or your admiration for respected leaders. Question every narrative. Verify every claim. Follow the facts. Resist manipulation. The Nigeria of our dreams can only be built by citizens who refuse to be divided, who choose unity over hatred, and who place our collective future above narrow interests. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

Yesterday, the Labour Party in Abia State successfully conducted its primary elections for the 2027 Governorship, National Assembly and State House of Assembly positions. I am humbled to have emerged as the Governorship candidate with 368,230 votes. I sincerely thank the Labour Party Election Primary Committee, INEC officials led by the Abia State Resident Electoral Commissioner, Prof. Sylvia Agu, and our party leaders for ensuring a peaceful, transparent and rancour-free process. I also congratulate all our candidates who emerged across the State. This marks the beginning of the real work ahead. Being chosen as candidates means we must now contend, campaign and convince the people. Election is about service and responsibility, and at the end of the day only the best will win. I urge all our candidates and supporters to reach out to Abians everywhere, both within and outside the party, so that together we can build a stronger Labour Party and deliver greater progress for our State and Nigeria. On a solemn note, I regret to announce the passing of the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 9, Umuahia, AIG Kanayo Uzuegbu. He was a good man and his loss is deeply felt. May his soul rest in peace. With unity, discipline and commitment, we will consolidate on our achievements and continue to serve Ndị Abia with integrity.

Open Apology Letter to the Obidient Movement My Dear Obidient Family, I come before you today with a heavy heart, deep humility, and no excuses. Some time ago, in a moment of frustration and immaturity, I wrote and released a resignation letter as Director of Mobilization. In that letter, I allowed deep frustration & personal emotions to cloud my judgment. I made statements that subtly and unnecessarily dragged Peter Obi, a man I still respect for his vision, integrity, and sacrifice for this nation. That was wrong. It was childish, and beneath the standard I should have upheld, especially as someone who once held a leadership position in this movement. I take full responsibility. No one forced me to write it. No one edited it. It came from me, and it was a mistake. I deleted the letter afterwards, but I know deletion does not erase the damage, the disappointment, or the loss of trust many of you felt. I understand why some of you no longer respect me the way you once did. You had every right to feel let down. To Peter Obi himself (fondly called PO): Sir, I am sincerely sorry. My words were not a true reflection of the values of sacrifice, accountability, and constructive criticism that you preach. I failed in that moment. To every single Obidient, the ones who stayed grinding, the ones who defended the vision even when it was tough, the ones who felt betrayed by my actions, I am deeply sorry. You are the real heroes of this movement. Many of you are young people full of hope and fire for a better Nigeria. You didn’t deserve to see internal cracks turned into public drama. I let you down. I am not writing this because I want something or a position in the movement as I’m enjoying private life. I am writing it because it is the right thing to do. Leadership is not only about when the road is sweet and smooth; it is also about owning up when you mess up. I own this fully. I am committed to rebuilding trust through consistent actions, not just words. But I also know trust is not demanded, it is earned back slowly, if at all. Thank you for reading this. Whether you accept my apology or not, I respect your feelings and your right to hold me accountable. The love I have for a better Nigeria has not changed. You all know me. My respect for the Obidient spirit remains. I am sorry truly. With humility and hope for forgiveness, Your brother in this struggle, Morris Monye. Oya come let’s hug. 😊

Yesterday, May 19th, in Abuja, I attended the Presidential screening organised by our party, which took over two and a half hours. They carefully reviewed all my documents, including my degree certificates, NYSC credentials, and age declarations. During the process, I also addressed questions regarding my vision for a new Nigeria and the type of leadership our nation urgently needs right now. Following this, I was cleared and received the presidential nomination form I had previously paid for. I would like to commend the screening committee, led by former governor Sam Egwu, for their thorough and professional approach. Additionally, I appreciate our party's leadership for upholding the democratic process. A New Nigeria is POssible. - PO

That’s the problem: caring more about marriage than resolving issues hindering a successful marriage. A woman just left an unhappy marriage, and upon discovering she’s having an affair with an unmarried man, you people are now asking why she’s not married to him. You are not reflecting on the issues she raised. Issues like keeping malice, neglect, disrespect, adultery, gambling, or financial mismanagement are all deeply concerning in marriage that no man or woman should experience or carry into a new marriage. What you are more concerned about is, “who will marry her?” “Let her marry her lover, na.” “So he won’t marry her?” “Marry, marry, marry,” Na craze?

The only thing I said last night was “don’t cheat on your partner as a man if you don’t want your wife to reciprocate the same energy “ but all I got in response was name calling like “Simps” woman wrapper etc. Some of you men watched your dad cheat on your moms so badly that the trauma is what you take to your wives when you get married, instead of seeking therapy for your traumatic past, you’re taking the anger on me.

Lol, why would I delete it? Back in 2020, because of the exceptional performance of Seyi Makinde during his first term, I said he had the qualities to be President. Fast forward to 2023, while he was contesting for reelection as governor, Peter Obi came on the scene and, based on his track record, I volunteered to be his campaign photographer pro bono because I genuinely believed he was fit for the job. I didn’t stop at taking pictures. I went back to my polling unit on election Day, voted, bought snacks, and encouraged people to stay until every single vote was counted. Peter Obi won there too. For context, that polling unit is close to the PDP national secretariat in AkwaIbom, and Udom Emmanuel was the PDP campaign DG. In 2025, I returned and continued my work as his photographer. So why exactly should I be ashamed that I saw visionary leadership in 2020 and wanted it at the national level? Unlike some political jobbers who once praised Peter Obi and later switched up, I’ve never changed my stance on Seyi Makinde. I’ve never insulted or disrespected him. I’m not just a supporter of Peter Obi, I work for and with him. He has the capacity to lead this country, and Seyi Makinde does too, based on proven track records. At the end of the day, it’s better for productive and competent people to contest elections than to leave leadership in the hands of drug dealers, certificate forgers, and people with no traceable background. I want a Nigeria that works and I’m happy the race is competitive, unlike the coronation some people were hoping to have.

On this World Nurses Day, I would like to take a moment to appreciate all the nurses and midwives in our dear nation, who occupy a very special place and play very critical roles in our health sector. As one who has been on the vanguard of investing in our critical sectors of human and national development, I have always maintained that you, our dear nurses, are the heart of our health sector. Over the years, I have traversed different corners of our nation supporting different schools and colleges of nursing and midwifery because I understand the inevitable role you play in our healthcare delivery. As you mark this special day, I wish to, firstly, thank you for all your efforts and sacrifices. Your compassion, sacrifice, and resilience keep our nation alive. And secondly, I wish to encourage you not to relent in your service to humanity. Nigerian nurses work under some of the toughest conditions with dignity and courage. From physical and mental stress to high patient-to-nurse ratios, to lack of equipment and poor working environments, your resilience keeps our health sector going. And beyond the shores of the nation, our nurses have continued to make exploits on the global stage. From leading the next generation research in nursing practice to championing excellence in clinical practice—many Nigerian nurses have written their names on the sands of time and lifted our national banner high. I celebrate you all. My firm commitment to you all remains this — we will build a New Nigeria where your hard work and sacrifices will never go unnoticed. We will invest in your education and training to ensure that you remain competitive on the global stage. Happy World Nurses Day to you all. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO
