Our relationship with the dead/our ancestors is so infected with fear it is almost entirely broken. The dead are the collective unconscious/God. Yet most of us are terrified of the deceased, asking God to protect us from them. Or better yet, religious institutions that exist to create a middleman between ourselves and God. So we are either asking God to protect us from God, or we are asking other humans to protect us from God for a price/tithe. I see how comically screwed up this is, but translating it for peeps that have never questioned their programming is hard!!

A small herb and veggie garden near the henhouse, and a little fishing pond guarded by a weeping willow a short walk away. But it's in bumfuck so the Amazon driver hates me and leaves my stuff way at the bottom of the stone steps. Storing enough firewood for the winter is an expensive pain in the butt also. Even in my imagination, I want a little realism. But it has electric lights, a full bathroom and plumbing including a hot water tank. I need some creature comforts.😂

@MercyMacabre And there's a fireplace in the kitchen and the bedroom for cooking and cool crisp mornings 😌 In the dormer there's a day bed for reading, and a chicken coop behind the house for fresh eggs. 🥚

I just gave it some thought and I came up with nuttin because most actresses are way too pretty and facially under expressive to play me. My face behaves like Elon Musk's. It just showcases everything I'm thinking at high speed. Telegraphing my opinions and spilling my secrets.😂 Most of Hollywood is far too botoxed and trained for subtlety to do that.

I've learned to keep a chopstick handy for when things get stuck in mine. You aren't being timed so go slow. Also, don't be a hero with the last bit of whatever you are slicing. When the cowboy hat won't hold it anymore without the hatpins getting in the way of the blade, either bust out a knife to finish it, or sacrifice it to the compost gods or the farm critters. Safer than sorry.

@ShelbyW02649619 The drapey sleeves plus short skirt, plus tall boots was me from my teens through my twenties. I was pretty married to that look for more than a decade. Though I had a slightly more goth spin on it. It's a bit embarrassing to think about now. 😅

@MercyMacabre Agreed 🤣 I could do without all the extra waist and face stuff but the wings and the sleeves and especially the dandelion are awesome. The sleeves are completely impractical for daily life but the other two aren't lol

At last, I did it! 🌽🦐🔥 I made a Japanese twist on Shrimp & Grits: Ginger Sesame Miso style. The grits are cooked in dashi, miso, butter, eggs, and green onions. The shrimp are coated in a glossy ginger sesame miso sauce. It’s still Shrimp & Grits, but reimagined as Japanese comfort food. Food culture is all about structure.

Am I the only one that thinks novels should have a page near the back that lists all the main characters and a brief synopsis so that i am not constantly flipping through pages to figure out who someone is?
