Can a language model understand JPEGs 💾? We trained ours 🦙 on raw byte streams, and it learned to speak JPEG-ese! We find the model's can understand file properties, fix anomalies, and generate new JPEGs 🖼️, all while bypassing the decompression step 🚀. A thread 🧵
